Rich's Notes: 1 the Stalker of Norfolk: a Graphic Novel by Rich Morris And The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 1 Rich's Notes: The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 2 Rich's Notes: Sergeant Benton welcomes the newest UNIT member to the team. He warns her about the weirdness factor of meeting the Doctor. Lo and behold, who should arrive… The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 3 Rich's Notes: The Doctor and Cpl.Powell discuss a little bit of history. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 4 Rich's Notes: The Doctor and Powell discuss Robert Dudley’s involvement in the death of his wife, but Powell-maintaining a belief in Dudley’s innocence deduces that it’s all conjecture anyway. Again, the Doctor disagrees, deciding to take Powell on a trip to vist and meet with Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, sometime before his death in 1588. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 5 Rich's Notes: In the Doctor’s lab, Beverly notes that a Police Box is unusual. They enter the TARDIS and take off, just as the Brig was looking to consult the Doctor about something. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 6 Rich's Notes: Aboard the TARDIS, Beverly tries to take in the weirdness and the Doctor fetches some clothes. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 7 Rich's Notes: The TARDIS lands on the grounds of Cumnor House in Oxfordshire. Beverly, dressed in the clothes of an Elizabethan man, is shocked. They head off to see if the Dudleys are at home. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 8 Rich's Notes: Beverly complains about the contemporary fashions. The Doctor is vague about the date they’re visiting. The Maid was expecting the Doctor! The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 9 Rich's Notes: The servant girl leads the Doctor and Beverly up to see the mistress. Beverly pauses at the top of the double staircase, suddenly aware that she’s at the very spot where Amye Robsart, Robert Dudley’s wife, was…or will be… found dead. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 10 Rich's Notes: The maid introduces the Doctor and Beverly to her mistress, the lady Amye Robsart, wife of Robert Dudley, future Earl of Leicester. She greets the Doctor and has the maid, Jane, take Beverly out of the room so that he can examine her. The Doctor draws a scanning device from his pocket. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 11 Rich's Notes: The maid, Jane, takes Beverly out and offers refreshments. Beverly questions Jane about Robert Dudley. She confesses that she feels that Lord Dudley is neglectful to his wife. Meanwhile, the Doctor tells Amye Robsart that he can ease her pain. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 12 Rich's Notes: The Doctor gives Amye a pill which makes her feel better almost immediately. He asks after Robert Dudley and Amye tells him [sadly] that he’s at court in London. As usual. She offers to lend the Doctor a pair of horses so he can go and try to see him. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 13 Rich's Notes: On borrowed horses, the Doctor and Beverly head to London to meet Robert Dudley. On the way, Beverly asks the Doctor what was wrong with Amye. He tells her she is dying of breast cancer and gave her a pill (from the distant future) to make her more comfortable. Beverly struggles with verb tenses, realizing that Professor Aird, who postulated that she’d had cancer, was/will be/will have been… correct. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 14 Rich's Notes: Meanwhile in London, Robert Dudley, the future Earl of Leicester, Queen’s Master of Horse, meets with his brother-in-law, Henry Sidney, President of the Council of the Marches in Wales. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 15 Rich's Notes: Sidney and Dudley discuss Dudley’s relationship to the Queen. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 16 Rich's Notes: Having arrived in London, the Doctor and Beverly set about trying to find Robert Dudley. The Doctor tells Beverly about the last time he met Dudley, in his first incarnation, when he attended the festivities surrounding Queen Elizabeth 1’s coronation. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 17 Rich's Notes: The Doctor and Beverly enter a pub to get something to eat and gather information. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 18 Rich's Notes: The Doctor and Beverly eaves drop and participate in various gossipy conversations around the pub and inquire as to the likely whereabouts of Lord Dudley. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 19 Rich's Notes: With a lead to the whereabouts of Lord Dudley, the Doctor and Beverly head off to the stables. Beverly meets a curious fellow with a snake emblem on his shoulders who points Dudley out to her. She rushes over to greet him just as he is ambushed by an ugly mob with rapiers! The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 20 Rich's Notes: .The Doctor and Beverly get involved in the battle. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 21 Rich's Notes: The battle continues with Beverly a little out of her depth with her sport- fencing limitations, The Doctor combining fencing with his Venusian martial arts, and Dudley a fine swordsman of his day. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 22 Rich's Notes: The Doctor, Beverly and Robert Dudley defeat the ambushers. Dudley comments on Beverly’s anachronistic fencing technique and the Doctor cuts her off before she can blow her cover. Dudley finds the Doctor “oddly familiar”. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 23 Rich's Notes: Grateful for the assistance of the Doctor and Beverly, Dudley takes them out for drinks. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 24 Rich's Notes: Beverly gets drinks and overhears a few conversations about the spreading disease in the North East. She tells the Doctor about it since she doesn’t remember anything about that from her studies. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 25 Rich's Notes: Dudley announces that he has tenants in Norfolk and must see to them. He requests that the Doctor and Beverly accompany him to provide some medical aid. The Doctor, surprised by this particular humanitarian side of Dudley’s behaviour, agrees. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 26 Rich's Notes: The Doctor and Beverly discuss Robert Dudley’s motives and personality. The Doctor seems a little biased. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 27 Rich's Notes: Dudley, Beverly and the Doctor ride into Norfolk, a -*flat* :D – county full of sheep enclosures and farmland. They pass an abbey with no roof and Siderstone Manor, which is in serious disrepair. Knowing that Dudley and Amye moved out of there because it was no longer suitable to live in, Beverly asks Robert whether he intendes to restore it. He says he might, having moved Amye in with friends while he considers the fate of *his* inheritance. They ride on to a cottage where they are spotted by a little portly man. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 28 Rich's Notes: Robert Dudley is greeted by John Flowerdew, the steward in charge of Siderstone in his stead. He tells them that plague had visited them but had since moved on Southward. Dudley introduces the Doctor. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 29 Rich's Notes: John Flowerdew assumes Beverly to be the Doctor’s apprentice [they don't try to correct him] and offers to have them all come inside to talk and have drinks. Dudley makes a snarky remark about the Pope and the Doctor makes a snarky remark about Beverly’s cover story options. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 30 Rich's Notes: John Flowerdew tells the Doctor, Beverly and Robert Dudley about the events surrounding the mysterious plague. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 31 Rich's Notes: The Doctor asks to see a body, but due to a law passed a few years before, all diseased bodies are buried immediately. Flowerdew tell him that there is one boy still alive and that his mother would be able to tell him what he needs to know. The Doctor makes plans to visit right away. The Stalker of Norfolk: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris and Hilary Doda 32 Rich's Notes: Dudley, The Doctor and Beverly visit “Old Widow Myddleton” to see her son who is dying of the recent ‘plague’.

»Das Kairós-Experiment« Eine A-Little-More-Sonic- Doctor Who- Audiogeschichte – Prod. 4/7 – 1. Draft – Buch: Elmar Vogt 4. August 2015 »kairoV, 1D« – Version: 4.

  • Doctor Who: Day of the Daleks
DOCTOR WHO AND THE DAY OF THE DALEKS By TERRANCE DICKS Based on the BBC television serial Doctor Who and the Day of the Daleks by Louis Marks by arrangement with the British Broadcasting Corporation 1 Terror in the Twenty-second Century Moni sat up and looked around cautiously. The enormous dormitory was packed with sleeping forms, drugged into total exhaustion by hours of brutal physical toil. One or two murmured and twisted and cursed in their sleep. A man screamed, 'No, no, please don't...' and then his voice tailed off into the mutterings of a nightmare. Moni saw that it was Soran. He had been beaten by the guards that morning for failing to meet his work-norm. Soran was weakening daily. He wouldn't last much longer. Somehow the incident seemed to give Moni courage. It was for Soran that he was fighting. Soran and thousands like him who would die in the work camps from brutal beatings, or worn out after years of grinding labour, unless... unless... Moni threw back the coarse blankets and swung his feet to the floor. There was nothing unusual in his being fully dressed. The dormitories weren't heated and most of his fellows slept fully clothed against the night cold. Vaguely Moni remembered having heard of a time when men had special clothes to sleep in - called py-something or other. His mind could scarcely imagine such luxury. Moni fished his boots from beneath his pillow. He'd put them there automatically the night before. The boots were made of new strong plastic, and in the work camps nothing valuable was safe unless it was within touching distance.

Mortensen, Assistant Professor, Department of Linguistics ii The UNIT “Dating” Crisis: Using Digital Humanities tools to investigate shipping claims in the Third Doctor era of Doctor Who Mara Katz University of Pittsburgh, 2014 Copyright © by Mara Katz 2014 iii Participants in a conversation commonly use terms of address to index interpersonal status and solidarity among interlocutors. Such terms are crucial in fiction, film, and television scripts in guiding audiences in their construction of the relationships among characters. In this thesis, I examine the use of terms of address in episodes of the BBC television drama Doctor Who from the first half of the 1970s. In particular, I look at the role those terms play in fans’ practice of shipping characters. “Shipping,” or theorizing the existence of subtextual romantic relationships between “pairings” of characters, is a common fan practice. I conclude that the shipping choices fans make do not appear to correlate with the use of terms of address between characters.

  • Doctor Who: the Terrors of Autons
DOCTOR WHO AND THE TERROR OF THE AUTONS By TERRANCE DICKS Based on the BBC television serial by Robert Holmes by arrangement with the British Broadcasting Corporation 1 The Terror Begins Luigi Rossini came down the steps of his caravan and looked about him with satisfaction. Most people wouldn’t have seen much cause for pleasure—a tatty little circus setting up in a muddy field. But Luigi Rossini, who had been born Lew Ross in Hoxton fifty years ago, saw things differently. The wagons and caravans might be worn and shabby, the elephants old and tired, the lions and tigers mangy—but the Circus Rossini was his. He was the Boss. And that was what Luigi Rossini enjoyed. The little circus never made very much money. It was too small to book the profitable sites, and had to be content with little village greens and shabby suburban recreation grounds. But Rossini had his own way of making money. He hired only the deadbeats, the down-and-outs of the circus profession; those who for one reason or another could never get a job with the big, posh outfits. Some were too old, or too incompetent. Some, like Tony the strong man, were on the run from the police. Rossini hired them all, and paid them starvation wages, knowing they wouldn’t dare to ask for more. All the profits went into his own pockets, paying for the flashy suits, the diamond rings and the big cigars that fitted Rossini’s picture of himself as international showman. Anyone who objected was soon beaten into submission by Rossini’s big fists.
