The Owls have two career 1,000-yard rushers in program history -- 1 Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty record holder CHASTON BENNETT (1,321) and former QB TREY WHITE (1,059).

BIRDS OF PREY 10-RECEPTION GAMES Monmouth held Lafayette to minus-1 yard rushing in this past Saturday’s season opener, tied for 1 Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty the fourth-fewest rushing yards allowed an FCS opponent in Big South history. In overall games, 1 Damian King, Liberty the Hawks’ effort ranks tied for eighth on the league’s all-time ledger.

MULTI-TOUCHDOWN GAMES TWO BILLS Player 2 3 4 5 Total Presbyterian College rushed for 207 yards in its season opener at Wake Forest last Thursday. It Jake McKenzie, KSU 1 1 was the most rushing yards by a Big South member against an FBS opponent since Liberty gained Pete Guerriero, MU 1 1 263 in its win at Georgia State on Oct. 3, 2015. A. Gandy-Golden, LU 1 1

TV GUIDE The Big South Conference’s 2017 television slate features 45 games spanning every week of the MULTI-TOUCHDOWN PASS GAMES campaign -- nearly 90 percent of the entire schedule -- with 14 total games exclusively on ESPN3, Player 2 3 4 5 Total STADIUM and 7COMM/PRINCETON MEDIA GROUP. ESPN3, ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, Stephen Calvert, LU 1 1 will exclusively deliver seven games this year, including a “Wildcard” selection the fi nal week of the regular-season. Coverage of that game will be determined 14-21 days in advance. Stadium 400-YARD PASSING GAMES will televise three exclusive contests, which will all be noon kickoffs. 7Comm/Princeton Media 1 Stephen Calvert, Liberty Group is a new television partner in 2017, and will produce and air four football broadcasts on a new regional network of broadcast TV stations named “ Down South.” The fi rst exclusive broadcast date was this past Saturday’s Lafayette at Monmouth contest on ESPN3, and 400-YARD TOTAL OFFENSE GAMES the package resumes Oct. 14 with the fi rst weekend of Big South games on ESPN3 and Stadium. 1 Stephen Calvert, Liberty

CHARLESTON SOUTHERN, KENNESAW STATE TIE FOR TOP PRESEASON SPOT For the fi rst time, two teams fi nished as the favorite in the annual Big South preseason football GAMES WITH RUSHING TD & PASSING TD poll, as two-time defending conference champion Charleston Southern University and third-year 1 Jake McKenzie, Kennesaw State program Kennesaw State University claimed the top spot in the 2017 preseason rankings as voted 1 Stephen Calvert, Liberty by the league’s head coaches and media panel. Both teams received nine fi rst-place votes, eight second-place votes and one third-place vote to fi nish atop the poll with 80 points each. The 10-POINT KICKING GAMES Owls will host the Buccaneers on Saturday, Nov. 11. 1 Alex Probert, Liberty

COULD THIS BE A REASON WHY THE PRESEASON POLL HAD TIED TEAMS? Charleston Southern and Liberty shared the Big South football championship in 2016 with 4-1 league records. It was the sixth time in eight seasons that the conference had co-champions in football, and the eighth time overall in the league’s 15-year football history that multiple champi- ons were crowned in a season. In 2016, CSU earned its third overall title (two shared), while Liberty took home its Big South-record eighth overall football trophy (six shared).

HELLOS The Big South football membership will feature the addition of Campbell University in 2018, as the school announced on Nov. 14, 2016, that it will begin scholarship football that season, and make the subsequent move to the Big South. Campbell is already a full-time conference mem- ber, and is playing its fi nal season of non-scholarship football in the Pioneer Football League. Meanwhile, the University of North Alabama will join Big South Football in 2019 as an associate member, a direct result of the Big South’s collaboration agreement with the ASUN Conference in which ASUN members playing scholarship football have an automatic home in the Big South.

GOOD-BYES Liberty University is playing its fi nal football season in the Big South this fall, as the Flames re- ceived a waiver from the NCAA to transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision as an independent. With Liberty’s transition underway, the Flames are ineligible for the Big South championship and FCS Playoffs, and thus are not eligible for the conference’s preseason poll nor the FCS Coaches Top 25 poll. The Flames remain a part of the conference schedule this season and will be con- sidered a league opponent, but will be listed at the bottom of the standings.
