When speaking of C.S.UCM Resita of Romania the phrase “Zero to Hero” springs to mind. In their first participation in the European Cup they successfully have reached the final of the competition which was no mean feat, but to take the title as the newcomers is nothing short of amazing. Both teams HK of and Resita have shown an equal level of play judging by the outcome of both matches and this match was decided in favour of the Romanians based on the away goals. For Drammen HK the disappointment was acute as this was the first time they have made it to a competition final since winning the City Cup in 95/96. The current Norwegian national champion went down fighting with the assistance of their two key players Frode Hagen and Glen Solberg who scored 10 goals each. The Romanian top scorer also with 10 goals was Bojan Butulia. C.S. UCM Resita v Drammen HK – 26:26 (13:12) Drammen HK v C.S. UCM Resita – 36:36 (17:14)
