Pearl Lowe Children's Dresses for Peacocks
PEARL LOWE CHILDREN’S DRESSES FOR PEACOCKS CHRISTMAS 2011 Pearl Lowe introduces her first vintage inspired children’s collection for Peacocks, inspired by five year old daughter Betty who is fast gaining recognition as Britain’s youngest trend setter Betty Lowe for Peacocks Christmas 2011 Peacocks, the UK’s hottest value fashion retailer is delighted to announce the launch of Pearl Lowe for Peacocks, a range of girl’s party dresses for Christmas 2011. The collaboration will mark Pearl’s first foray into children’s fashion for which she has taken inspiration from her daughter Betty who is fast gaining recognition as one of Britain’s youngest trend setters. Five year old Betty Lowe is sister to fashion icon Daisy Lowe, and the youngest of Pearl’s four children. Having grown up immersed in the world of fashion and music (her father is Supergrass drummer, Danny Goffey), from as early on as two years, she started to show a love for the family’s trademark vintage style. Pearl’s ‘Betty’ collection of four party pieces have been designed by Pearl Lowe, with a helping hand from her daughter who selected her favourite vintage dresses from her own wardrobe and as showcased on her extensive antique doll collection. The cream lace dress was inspired by the dress Betty wore as flower girl to her aunt’s wedding in 2009 and the red velvet dress was taken from her favourite story, Little Red Riding Hood. Pearl who is currently celebrating her seventh successful women’s collection for Peacocks, used her experience to translate traditional style notes for the modern high street market. -

Pearl Lowe - CV
Pearl Lowe - CV Pearl began her career in the public eye as a singer/songwriter in the 90's bands Powder and later Lodger. By 2001 Pearl's interest had moved more towards interiors and in that year she launched her own range of antique lace curtains, and cushions. In 2006 she launched the Pearl Lowe collection; a range of dresses which drew inspiration from her interior creations. Pearl's clothing and interiors ranges are now made to order and her dresses are sold in up-market boutiques. Pearl’s career has also seen her design a ‘Sell Out Collection’ for the high street retailer, Peacocks - which included a womenswear and childrenswear collection. Pearl’s Peacocks collections literally sold out 24 hours after going in-store and online ! Pearl has modelled for brands such as Agent Provocateur and Australian clothing brand Wheels and Doll Baby. Pearl has contributed to programmes such as Fill Your House For Free for Channel 4, Angela & Friends for Sky, Style on Trial for BBC4 and she was a mentor on Britain's Next Top Model. In 2007 Pearl released her memoir, 'All that Glitters', which was a ‘best-seller’. May 2013 saw the launch of Pearl's first interiors/craft book - Pearl Lowe's Vintage Craft from Harper Collins. This book includes craft projects and styling advice for the modern vintage home. Pearl lives in the countryside, with her husband Danny Goffey (drummer of hugely successful Britpop band Supergrass) and their three children. Pearl is also mother to model Daisy Lowe. -
There's No Place Like Frome
There's no place like Frome When Pearl Lowe abandoned her notorious Primrose Hill Fast Set for the slow, rolling hills of Somerset, she found the contentment she had always craved, she tells Kathryn Knight Given that Pearl Lowe's husband is a rock star and that she used to be in a band herself, it should be no huge surprise that the couple now live in a “very big house in the country”, as Blur once mockingly described the pop lifestyle. Nonetheless the idea still takes some getting used to: for many years Pearl and husband Danny Goffey, drummer with the indie band Supergrass, were confirmed urbanites, specifically urbanites living in one tiny hectic triangle of North London known as Primrose Hill. Here, alongside her close friends Sadie Frost, Kate Moss, Davinia Taylor and assorted other actresses, models and musicians, Pearl seemed to live a gilded existence as part of London's “It-crowd”. She had three gorgeous children, the rock star partner, the vast stucco-fronted house and a glut of A-list invitations cluttering her mantelpiece. Only those closest to her knew that behind the dazzling party smile Lowe was not just a “recreational” drug user at those all-night parties but hopelessly addicted to heroin and cocaine, and barely holding herself together. As she says today: “I was living a whole life that was fake, and that was really scary. Everyone told me I had the best life and actually it wasn't, it was vacuous and empty, a big bag of nothing. I'd pushed the people who really mattered away for people who didn't really give a s*** about me.” Many people with similar trajectories don't get their happy ending, but Lowe, 38, certainly seems to have found hers, in the environs of a three-storey Georgian sandstone house on the outskirts of Frome in Somerset. -

Luxe Goods on the Fly: Accessories Brands Tap Travel Retail for Growth By Katya Foreman PARIS — Leather goods are set for takeoff in the travel retail sector, traditionally known for sales of perfume, liquor and tobacco. Airport retailers and brand executives said that even though they are weighed down by luggage, travelers are still willing to splurge on that extra bag, regardless of the price tag. And airport operators are zoning in. For example, last November, British Airports Authority introduced its first concept area for fashion accessories, the World Duty Free Collection, in Gatwick North Airport in London.
