I watched all three documentaries before reading this book. So my review might be from that perspective. If the book seems slow, give it a while because it gets faster towards the end. Regardless of how much the book is fact vs. fiction, it gives deep insight into Richard and his life. There are a couple of people in the book that he runs into that make you root for Richard briefly. Its a nice change of pace from his constant evil. The stories about his family also show somewhat of a different side, but even there theres some evil.Just as you notice the book seems to be repeating himself (only because Richard kept repeating patterns), the book takes a turn and moves faster and better. I read the last 1/3 in a day, faster than the first part.I dont which is better to read/watch first, this book or documentaries, but I do recommend doing both. The videos will give more insight into his childhood, the book more into his adult career. Angie Ellington has a talent for making readers feel at home. Age of Subject: Richard Kuklinski showed signs of pathological behavior at a young age by being cruel to animals. His first taste for murder was in his teens and continued his criminal career well into his fifties. Brief Synopsis: Throughout Kuklinski’s lifetime he admitted to killing more than two hundred people. First part of his life he killed for no reason other than if someone offended him or even sometimes based upon a bet. Richard became wealthy and a notorious contract killer into his forties. Thanks to the advent of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency has given rise to expedited international exchanges, increased protection of consumer identity, and secured methods for logging transactions. He was 70. In announcing his death to The Associated Press, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey Department of Corrections, Deirdre Fedkenheuer, did not disclose the cause or the reason he was hospitalized. Mr. Kuklinski promoted his own notoriety by appearing in two HBO documentaries as well as meeting with writers, psychiatrists and criminologists. He became known as the Iceman because he sometimes froze corpses to disguise the time of death. He often listed the many ways he killed: firearms, including a miniature derringer; ice picks; hand grenades; crossbows; chain saws; and a bomb attached to a remote-control toy car. His favorite weapon, he said, was cyanide solution administered with a nasal-spray bottle in the victim's face. Sometimes Mr. Kuklinski -- a 6-foot-5, 300-pound, tattooed, bearded man -- took his public act a step too far and told specious stories, like the dramatic role he claimed in the killing of the Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa. The authorities also impugned his claim of storing a corpse in the freezer of a Mister Softee truck for two years.
