Published 1st October 2015 The standard of entries still amazes the editor. If you don’t believe him, look back through the previous new stories – Tibet, Florence, Florida, Switzerland etc. This entry comes from Chipper Colvin who relates the story as follows: This dates to 2006 when I took a Women’s Lighty quad of Sarah-Jane Blunt (Stroke), Anna McMahon (3), Danae (Dee) Bosler (2), & Nalini Blacker (bow) to race at Women’s Henley. We were boated out of the Imperial College boathouse at Putney where Richard Wearne was the clubhouse manager at the time. On our second morning in London the tides were with us and Monster (Richard Wearne) suggested we do the big trip into the City. We headed off to the London Eye with the last of the outgoing tide and came back to Putney with the beginning of the incoming tide. All up we covered about 24km or so return trip in about an hour & 40 minutes. While I coached and navigated the girls, Monster drove the tinny & took the photos (each of us got a CD of about 300 shots as a reminder) but this shot was the highlight. About one stroke after this photo was taken, the girls realised where they were and the whole thing went to pot.
