SATURDAY 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. • Zone Day at the Florida Museum of Natural History Includes a variety of family friendly entertainment and the opportunity to enjoy exhibits, traditional pollera dancing, story-telling, butterflies, art activities and more.

SUNDAY 1:15 - 2:15 p.m. • “The : Traditional Kuna Textile Art” lecture by author Edith Crouch with reception and book signing to follow at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art. Accompanying exhibit: Patterns Past and Present: Arts of Panama, open through June 7, 2015.

• Multiple exhibits across campus will display select items from the Smathers Libraries, including the Panama Canal Museum Collection, relating to the planning, construction and evolution of the Canal and its surrounding areas.

Sandro Tigishvili, violin was born on October 17th 1980 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He started to play the violin in the age of 7 at the Tbilisi . In the year 1999 he continued his studies in Geneva with the eminent violin teacher Prof. H. Kayaleh. In 2007 Sandro won the first price on the International Music Competition in Padova (Italy). He has performed as a soloist with different orchestras in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Luxembourg, UK, Georgia, etc. He plays an Italian violin by Tononi from 1770.

Juan E. Castillo, Principal Oboist of Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Panamá, is titular professor of oboe in the National Institute of Music of Panama. He has organized Summerfest 2014 Sponsors and created the Festival of Double-Reed Instruments of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean.

He also has an outstanding career as a soloist at the national and international level, performing with the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama, The Symphony Orchestra of Nicaragua, Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador, La Philharmonic Orchestra Honduras, The Symphony of America, the Italian Orchestra Roma Mission both directed by Maestro James Brooks and I MUSICI Chamber Orchestra of ITALY.

He has premiered several works for oboe, such as the Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra by Antonio Pasculli, Concerto for Oboe, by Elcio Sa, his performance with the renowned English oboist Malcolm Messiter and the Panama premier of the oboe concerto Richard Strauss and Romero Adelmaro.
