Nanga Music Festival - Press Alert $99 buys a full weekend of fine acoustic music

The Nanga Music Festival has opened its early bird sales, offering a full weekend of music, workshops and community spirit for just $99 per adult.

WAs smallest acoustic festival is on 12-14 October, offering a line-up of quality acts from around Australia. It accommodates less than 300 people.

Were a bit unique in that we only have one gig going at any one time, says Nanga spokesman Tim Fisher.

"This makes for a strong sense of community, given that everyone attends the same gigs.

Line up

This year’s festival, held at the picturesque Nanga Bush Camp near Dwelllingup, features Loren Kate, The Borderers, Kavisha Mazella and the Fred Smith Trio, which has Fred teaming up with local musicians Reuben Kooperman and Fred Kuhl. This year's festival also sees Louisa and Scott Wise reunite on stage. Louisa took a break from performing last year, so we’re particularly excited to welcome her to the festival, says Tim.

Other local acts include Doris, The Mitch Becker Trio and a capella group Summerhouse.

Children are free

Nanga is family friendly and provides free weekend festival passes for school children up to Year 12 if staying with an adult, along with reduced rates for accommodation and meals.

Joining in

Opportunities to join in include a campfire singalong, daily open mike sessions and the festivals infamous Blind Date Concert, where patrons of all levels of ability are invited to perform on the main stage.

Workshops, mulled wine, low-cost canteen meals and a Friday night dance with the notorious Fancy Brothers are all part of Nanga's laid-back charm.

This is one of the best line ups we’ve ever had, says Tim. But I seem to say that every year!

Earlybird adult tickets cost $99. Rustic accommodation and canteen-style meals must also be booked in advance.
