Notices of press conferences or events remain posted until after the event. If you want a release to be placed in a reporter’s mailbox, use the attached list to address individual releases. The Gallery does not accept FAXed news releases unless they are directed to a specific reporter. USTUDIOS The Radio-TV Gallery's BIG STUDIO, located in H-321 of the Capitol, is available for Member interviews subject to the following Gallery rules: 1) UA MEMBER MUST BE INVITED BY A BROADCAST JOURNALIST WHO GUARANTEES TO COVER THE INTERVIEW U. This prevents a Member from coming to the studio and having no one there to cover his/her comments. Print journalists and still photographers may NOT invite Members, but they may attend the events. 2) U ONLY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS MAY BE INTERVIEWED IN THE STUDIOU. If a Member wishes to have people other than fellow Members, staff or credentialed reporters attend or participate, arrange the interview at another location. Consider reserving a committee or private room in the Capitol or one of the office buildings or using the Cannon Terrace (See map on page 2). 3) U ONLY MEMBERS, THEIR STAFF AND ACCREDITED JOURNALISTS ARE ALLOWED U UIN THE STUDIO FOR THE INTERVIEWSU. U PLEASE DO NOT INVITE OTHERS BECAUSE IT IS AWKWARD FOR EVERYONE WHEN WE HAVE TO EXCLUDE THEM U. Staff may be asked to listen to the interview in the outer gallery office if the studio is crowded. In your notice of a news conference in the Gallery, always include that it is "FOR MEDIA ONLY". I M P O R T A N T N O T E The primary use for the studio is for TV and radio interviews. Opening the door causes noise in the audio feed. Only Members of Congress are permitted to enter and exit during an interview even though this may interference with the interview sound. USTAFF AND REPORTERS MAY NOT ENTER THE STUDIO ONCE AN INTERVIEW HAS BEGUN Uand UIF STAFF AND/OR REPORTERS GO INTO THE STUDIO, THEY MUST STAY UUNTIL THE INTERVIEW IS OVER ! If a broadcaster invites a Member for a one-on-one interview, it will probably be scheduled for the SMALL STUDIO which is also located in H-321 of the Capitol, or the RAYBURN STUDIO located in B-365 Rayburn. UTHE TRIANGLE As of July, 2002 the Triangle is not longer an available location for news conferences due to construction of the Capitol Visitors Center. The Cannon Terrace is the new alternative location for similar activities. UTHE CANNON TERRACE Due to current construction of the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC), the Triangle press location will be relocated to the elevated terrace adjacent to the Cannon House Office Building’s entrance at Independence and New Jersey Avenues beginning July 8, 2002. This new area will be referred to as the “Cannon Terrace” press location and used until the CVC’s projected completion date of 2005. The Cannon Terrace will be equipped with a permanent podium for press conferences and will be shared with accredited television media organizations doing live shots. Members wishing to schedule media events at the Terrace should limit participants due to the limited amount of space. Handicapped access for participants is available by requesting the emergency door be opened by the police stationed there. Offices are also requested NOT to use sound amplification systems given the Terrace’s proximity to the building and its offices. The House Radio-TV Correspondents’ Gallery will schedule all events at the Terrace and can be contacted at 5-5214. The same guidelines as applied to the Triangle will apply at the Cannon Terrace. These include allowing non-members to participate in events as long as a member is in attendance as well, and notifying the police if any large or unusual prop will be used. • Nevertheless, Positive Signs Are Emerging, Such As Efforts To
Nevertheless, positive signs are emerging, such as efforts to professionalize certain media (written as well as broadcast), the gradual awakening of the state media, and the appearance of journalism and communication schools. TOGO 410 MEDIA SUSTAINABILITY INDEX 2012 INTRODUCTION OVERALL SCORE: 1.60 TOGO The panel shed new light on the difficulties, and also the progress, of the Togolese press, whose legitimate ambition is to participate, in its own way, in the effort of national development and the strengthening of democracy. Indeed, despite the existence of pioneering legal texts, the Togolese press remains hindered by Tits initial failings during the early 1990s: extreme politicization of the media, poor information collection and processing practices, amateurism and dubious business practices in media management, and lack of state aid. Nevertheless, positive signs are emerging, such as efforts to professionalize certain media (written as well as broadcast), the gradual awakening of the state media, and the appearance of journalism and communication schools. Development of young democracies cannot be achieved without a free, independent, responsible, and well-managed press. If in the 1990s the liberalization of the press was, among other things, granted under popular pressure, the government would be well advised today to put the Togolese press on the track toward professionalization in appropriate ways, such as substantial increases in state aid to the media, rebates on the cost of materials and electronic equipment, grants for journalism schools, and facilitation of an organizational structure of the advertising industry. While there is certainly impetus for the growth of the Togolese media, 2012 saw an almost across-the-board regression in each objective, save for its supporting institutions, which the panel rated as having experienced modest improvement.

  • 2010 Annual Forecast Dinner Featuring David Tice and Art Hogan
2010 Annual Forecast Dinner Featuring David Tice and Art Hogan David W. Tice, Federated’s chief portfolio strategist for bear markets, has been at the forefront of bear market investing for more than 20 years. Mr. Tice has long taken the role of a Cassandra to warn investors about the dangers of investing near the end of a secular bull market and has debated nearly every bullish Wall Street strategist. He gained national recognition through articles he wrote for Barron's and as the subject of numerous business journal and television interviews beginning at the time when he was among just a handful of courageous people who dared to short the market. Today he shares his views of the market and bear market investing approaches with both Federated investment personnel and clients alike. Prior to his career as an investment manager and strategist, Mr. Tice held financial analyst positions with Atlantic Richfield Company and ENSERCH Corporation, a diversified energy company. He then joined Concorde Financial Corporation where he served as director of investments and was responsible for launching an equity mutual fund. He launched his firm, David W. Tice & Associates, LLC in 1988 to provide clients with hedging or sell discipline perspectives and recommendations through his "Behind the Numbers" publication and research service. This effort formed the origins of Federated Prudent Bear Fund in 1995 and Federated Prudent Global Income Fund in 2000. Mr. Tice holds an undergraduate degree in accounting as well as an MBA from Texas Christian University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Arthur R. Hogan III, Director, Global Equity Product, Jefferies & Co.

INTRODUCTION Chances are, by the time you’re finished reading this introduction, you will have gotten at least one notification. Email, chat, social media, weather updates, news alerts—all of these things are competing for your time and attention. With so many distractions, it’s no wonder people’s average attention span has been steadily decreasing over the years. As of 2015, it was 8.25 seconds: less than that of a goldfish. As a result of this stif competition for consumer attention, streaming media content providers have to work harder than ever to stand out from the crowd. Today, the biggest diferentiator for content providers across industries is the user experience (UX) their platform provides. Three metrics that most influence the UX of streaming media content are: • End-to-end latency: The time between video or audio being captured by a camera, microphone or other source, and that same audio or video being played back on a user’s device.
