ØSteelhead (up to 30”) have been caught in the Arroyos here up until the 1960s. ØThey currently do not migrate through the Arroyos because of - barriers in lower Alameda Creek and the Arroyos - inadequate stream flows allowed by Zone 7 Water Agency. ØBiologists have determined that steelhead could spawn in the upper gorge of Arroyo Mocho where native trout already live ØSmolts (juveniles) can survive in existing deep spring-fed pools in the Mocho gorge during our hot summers ØSmolts (1-2 yrs old) migrate downstream and adults upstream to spawn and back during the high flows around storm events. Tri-Valley Hub Network Integration Study Final Report May 20, 2021 ES-1 Final Report Tri-Valley Hub Network Integration Study Tri-Valley Hub Network Integration Study Final Report Prepared by Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) May 20, 2021 Executive Summary The 2018 California State Rail Plan envisions a network of high-speed, intercity corridor, and commuter trains integrated with local transit, providing nearly seamless connections for riders seeking to reach all parts of the state. In corridors where no trains operate, the Rail Plan calls for express buses using the existing highway systems to provide access to the state’s rail system. The Rail Plan identified the I-680 corridor between the Tri-Valley area (i.e. Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore) and Suisun City as one such corridor, where express buses could link a Tri-Valley Transit Hub with the Suisun-Fairfield Amtrak Station, a stop for the Capitol Corridor trains. This Tri-Valley Hub Network Integration Study is an effort to define what such express bus service would be: its route, stops, connections with corridor and commuter trains, as well as its likely ridership, revenue, and costs for implementation. The study investigates the BART Dublin/Pleasanton BART station as a candidate for the Tri-Valley Transit Hub, along with potential improvements that could make the facility easier, safer, and more comfortable for riders to use. The study also explores options to better connect northern San Joaquin County communities with the Tri-Valley Hub. The distance between the Suisun Amtrak Station and the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station is 53 miles, inclusive of a stop at the Martinez Amtrak Station. -

San Francisco Hydrologic Region California’s Groundwater Livermore Valley Groundwater Basin Bulletin 118 Livermore Valley Groundwater Basin • Groundwater Basin Number: 2-10 • Counties: Alameda and Contra Costa • Surface Area: 69,600 acres (109 square miles) Basin Boundaries and Hydrology The Livermore Valley lies about 40 miles east of San Francisco and 30 miles southwest of Stockton within a structural trough of the Diablo Range. The groundwater basin extends from the Pleasonton Ridge east to the Altamont Hills (about 14 miles) and from the Livermore Upland north to the Orinda Upland (about 3 miles). Surface drainage features include Arroyo Valle, Arroyo Mocho, and Arroyo las Positas as principal streams, with Alamo Creek, South San Ramon Creek, and Tassajara Creek as minor streams. All streams converge on the west side of the basin to form Arroyo de la Laguna, which flows south and joins Alameda Creek in Sunol Valley. Some geologic structures restrict the lateral movement of groundwater, but the general groundwater gradient is to the west, then south towards Arroyo de la Laguna. Elevations within the basin range from about 600 ft in the east, near the Altamont Hills, to about 280 ft in the southwest, where Arroyo de la Laguna flows into Sunol Groundwater Basin. Average annual precipitation ranges from 16 inches on the valley floor to more than 20 inches along the southeast and northwest basin margins. Hydrogeologic Information Water Bearing Formations The entire floor of Livermore Valley and portions of the upland areas on all sides of the valley overly groundwater-bearing materials. The materials are continental deposits from alluvial fans, outwash plains, and lakes. -

The Viticultural Districts of the Livermore Valley AVA by Patrick L Shabram Copyright ©2018, 2019 Prepared by Patrick L Shabram for the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association ALL RIGHTS RESERVED The Viticultural Districts of the Livermore Valley AVA Summary The Livermore Valley AVA is diverse in topography, soil, and as a result of Pacific airflow into the region, climate. The Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association has commissioned a soils report and a climate report to better understand this diversity. Utilizing the results of the climate and soils reports, this report outlines twelve viticultural districts within the Livermore Valley AVA. Background The Livermore Valley AVA (27 CFR Part 9 §9.46) was created in 1982 and amended in 2006 to recognize the unique viticulture of the inland East Bay area of the San Francisco Bay Area. The AVA occupies sections of the Diablo Range in southern Contra Costa and eastern Alameda counties, including the Amador, Livermore, and San Ramon valleys (often referred to as the Tri-Valley area). The Diablo Range is a subset of the greater Coastal Ranges. The AVA is characterized by a combination of diverse topography and transitional climate, which creates diverse growing conditions within the AVA. Despite its inland location, which is not adjacent to any bodies of water, the climate of the Livermore Valley AVA is greatly influenced by Pacific airflow that moderates temperatures relative to warmer inland locations to the east. This airflow enters the AVA in several locations, complicating the temperature patterns in the AVA. Further complicating the climate is elevation, which ranges from approximately 160 feet to 3,848 feet in the area.
