Tournament Details The Massey University Archery Club is pleased to host the 75th Archery New Zealand National Outdoor Championships. This tournament will include the Clout and Target Championships, the Individual Matchplay Open, and several Team Matchplay events. No Field Championship is included.

Eligibility for New Zealand archers • Must be a full, affiliated, shooting member of Archery New Zealand.

ANZ Members • Your current Archery New Zealand affiliation number MUST BE included in your entry or your registration will not be processed. • Postal/Social/Archery in Schools members are NOT eligible, unless you upgrade to a full membership. • New/other members will need to apply for a 2017/2018 season full membership to be eligible to compete. o Your entry will not be confirmed until your 2017-2018 ArcheryNZ membership has been processed o There WILL NOT be facilities for you to complete membership transactions at registration. • You will be asked to present your 2017-2018 Archery New Zealand membership card at registration – so you must bring it with you. • If you have paid recently and not received your membership card, please bring proof of payment with you.

Eligibility for Overseas Archers • Overseas archers who are affiliated through their respective countries to World Archery are able to compete. • Please provide proof of the association you are affiliated to with World Archery e.g. , Archery GB, etc. • ALL archers will be asked to present their current membership cards at registration. Please make sure you have them in your bow case or quiver.

Shooting Rules • This Tournament will be run according to the current rules of Archery NZ & World Archery. • Maximum draw weight of 60lbs (World Archery rules apply) for all events at this tournament.

Anti Doping WADA, World Archery Drug Free and Archery New Zealand all remind athletes that some supplements can cause anti- doping rule violations through contamination. We remind all athletes that you are personally responsible for what you put into your body, and that the tournament committee and Archery New Zealand take no responsibility for what any supplements may contain.

Uniforms • The 2018 Archery NZ Outdoor National Championships are a World Archery Registered Event, and the Archery New Zealand Dress Code will apply. • All archers are required to be correctly attired for all events. This includes everyone wearing totally closed footwear. • New Zealand archers may wear their registered club, district or squad uniforms, the CURRENT New Zealand representative uniform if entitled to wear it, whites or appropriate sportswear. • Overseas archers may also wear their appropriate club, team, district, national uniforms or whites. As the NZ Judges wear red shirts, we prefer archers to avoid this colour if possible to avoid confusion. • All archers are reminded that all uniforms worn must be the complete uniform, not an assortment of attire from various uniforms. • NO DENIM or CAMOUFLAGE CLOTHING is permitted at the target or clout events. • This dress code will be enforced, and archers not complying with these rules will be asked to leave the shooting line. • The Target, Clout, Individual Matchplay and Mixed Teams Matchplay events – dress code applies. o For the Teams' Matchplay event, custom sports-attire team uniforms will be permitted. • Official Practice – dress code does not apply.

Page 4 of 10 Entry Information • The entry form for this tournament is electronic, the link to which can be found on the front page of this document. • The onus is on you, the archer, to ensure this entry form is correctly filled in, with your contact details and all the relevant information. • Please check your confirmation email when you receive it, to ensure you are shooting what you believe you entered for. • Closing Date Entries will close at midnight (New Zealand time) on 19th November 2017. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Late Entries and Late Fee • Late entries are subject to space on the line. Please endeavour to enter early so organisers are fully able to cater to your needs. • A late entry fee of $50 will be applied to entries received after the closing date. Entries will be confirmed. If yours has not been confirmed prior to the closing date, please contact the tournament organisers to follow up.

Payment • Payment in full would be appreciated at the time of application. Your place on the line is NOT confirmed until the full payment is received. • Archery New Zealand refund policy will apply: "If an entry is withdrawn before the closing date then a full refund should be made; if made after the closing date then 50% of the fee may be refunded at the discretion of the Local Organising Committee." • Overseas archers may pay cash (in New Zealand dollars) on registration day. Food • There will be a coffee cart and lunch wagon organised for the Massey Venue.

Accommodation • There is some accommodation available at Massey Uni through the Halls of Residence and through the Sport and Rugby Institute. • The Hall of the Residence accommodation can be booked through: www.campussummerstays.co.nz/locations/massey-manawatu-halls.html. o There are single rooms and houses available with cooking facilities. A majority of the rooms are age limited at 14+ but some of the holiday homes are available for those with younger children. • The Sport and Rugby Institute has all rooms pencilled in for the event and bookings can be made here: www.sportandrugbyinstitute.com • There is no access to the kitchen at the Institute as it is a fully commercial kitchen, but there are tea and coffee facilities etc. like a motel. You can discuss catering options with them if you are interested. This would probably suit a larger group booking.

Tournament Venues • The Target venue is the Massey University Rugby Fields. This is behind the Recreation Centre, Orchard Road, Massey University, Palmerston North. • Directions on how to get here are at the back of this info pack. • The Clout venue is at Coronation Park on the corner of Tremaine Avenue and Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North.

Target Rounds • All archers, excluding crossbow archers, will be on the same shooting line, shooting at the same time. • There will be up to three archers per target. • Crossbows will shoot an IR900 round on a separate line

Page 5 of 10 Presentation Dinner • This is a banquet-style dinner to be held at the Convention Centre on Main Street, Palmerston North. • Archers are encouraged to bring family and friends to this event, to share in the celebrations. • Includes prize-giving and Champion of Champions trophies. • The cost will be NZ $55.00 per person. • Please let us know if you have any special requirements for this event; either on the entry form or by email (in confidence) to the organisers. • There will be a cash bar operating. • THERE WILL BE NO ALCOHOL SUPPLIED TO MINORS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT NZ LAW.

Conduct • It is expected that all competitors will behave in accordance with fair play, respect and sportsmanship. Unacceptable language and behaviour will not be tolerated.

Safety • We are shooting in built-up areas. All references to safety in Archery NZ and World Archery rules will be strictly adhered to. All instructions from tournament officials MUST BE followed. Any breach of these rules may lead to expulsion from the Tournament.

Rounds to be shot

The Clout Championship • This will be a round of 36 arrows at respective distances.

The Target Championship • This will be decided on the combined score from the WA 1440 and WA 720 rounds.

Individual Match Play • Cadets, Juniors, Masters & Seniors will shoot at standard World Archery distances • Cub & Intermediate archers will shoot at their second longest WA1440 distance on a 122cm face

Teams Matchplay • Open teams matchplay of three archers of the same bow type per team • Only 70m Recurve teams matchplay, 50m Compound teams matchplay, and 25m JAMA teams will be held • 70m matchplay will be shot on a 122cm face; 50m matchplay will be shot on 80cm spot faces • Teams will be limited to a maximum of 16 per divisions and eliminations will commence at the 1/8th round • Team names and competitors must be entered no later than the close of official registration on the 2nd Jan • JAMA teams matchplay will be subject to entries and will be shot at 25m on an 80cm face o If there are not enough entries within the JAMA divisions, an alternative shoot may be held instead

Mixed Teams Matchplay This is most likely format our youth international representatives will experience. • Mixed teams will be made up of two archers per team, one of each gender. • Senior & Junior Recurve will shoot at 70m on a 122cm face • Cadet & Masters Recurve will shoot at 60m on a 122cm face; Cadet & Junior Compound will shoot at 50m on an 80cm spot face; Cub and Intermediate (Recurve AND Compound) shoot at 25m on 80cm face • Teams will be limited to a maximum of 16 per divisions and eliminations will commence at the 1/8th round • Mixed Teams must be entered no later than the close of official registration on the 2nd Jan

District Mixed Teams Matchplay • Mixed Teams Matchplay competition for the four districts of Archery New Zealand • Mixed teams will be made up of two archers per team, one of each gender. • Representative archers for each district must be provided to the Admin team by close of official registration
