tour description

Day 1 : - MINGUN - HSITHE (approximately 8 hours by boat) (-/L/D)

In the morning around 07:00 hours, board a private boat at Malikha jetty (Gawwin Jetty) in Mandalay. The tour starts from sailing out of the jetty towards Mingun. The legendary Mingun Bell (which weighs around 90 tons) is one of the largest ringing bells in the world. The bell was destined for King Bodawpaya's Pahtodawgyi brick pagoda which would have been the highest in the world if the project had not been halted because of the King's deep superstitions. Back on board around 09:30 hours. Continue to Hsithe which needs an approximately 7 hours boat ride, and have lunch on board. On the way to Hsithe, enjoy the breath-taking views of local life and nature by the river. Late afternoon, you will arrive at Hsithe. Welcome by villagers at the 'Visitor Centre' for an opportunity to observe and buy local crafts. Sit on the Pavilion Veranda to enjoy a stunning sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River. Dinner and overnight on board at Hsithe.

Day 2 : HSITHE - SHEINMAGA TAWYAGYI - MANDALAY (approximately 5 hours by boat) (B/L/-)

In the early morning, have a cup of coffee. And then, take a short fishing trip with fishermen, which may takes for about 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Hsithe is known for its fishermen (and fisherwomen) who have traditionally fished cooperatively with the dolphins. There is a chance, but not guaranteed, to see dolphins. If you are lucky, this will be a magic moment. At times, up to 10 individuals can be seen playing, feeding and 'snorting' in the water opposite Hsithe but everything is down to luck! Breakfast will be served on board after your fishing trip. Afterwards, visit to the Hsithe village and fishermen will teach you how to cast the fishing nets. Then return to the boat and have lunch during navigation. After boating for about 2 hours, stop at the Sheinmaya Tawyagyi village. Sheinmaga Tawyagyi is located midway between Kyaukmyaung and Mingun on the west bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River. Upon arrival, visit to the Wildlife Sanctuary in Sheinmaga Tawyagyi village. It is the oldest wildlife sanctuary in Myanmar and founded by King Mindon in 1852. It has an area of 334 acres. This sanctuary is home Eld's Deer and Yellow-headed tortoises, both endangered species. It is also home to many bird species including Hooded treepie and White-throated babbler, which are endemic to Myanmar. And then, visit to the beautiful 19th century monastery and village school. After exploring around the Sheinmaga Tawyagyi village, return back to Mandalay and it may take for about 3 hours. Late in the afternoon, we will arrive back to the Mandalay. includes excludes
