On behalf of the Jackson Public School District, I hereby submit the district’s annual Dropout Prevention Plan and Restructuring Plans for each high school in the Jackson Public Schools with a graduation rate below 85%. As required in policy and state law, the plan includes strategies for:

 Reducing the retention rates in grades kindergarten, first and second;  Targeting subgroups that need additional assistance to meet graduation requirements;  Developing dropout recovery initiatives that focus on students age seventeen (17) through twenty-one (21), who dropped out of school; and  Addressing how students will transition to the home school district from the juvenile detention centers.

School Restructuring Plan Goals Goal 1: To increase the annual percent of students “on track to graduate” based on attendance (those missing 2 or less days) from 77.1% to 80% by May of 2021 as evidenced by District attendance data.
