Back in those days, there was no Facebook, Foursquare or Twitter to let the whole world know what you were doing, but children still had loads of fun playing together! Aeroplanes are heavier than air yet they can fly and stay in the sky. They can also fly straight or turn. How? You probably guess it to be due to the engine and design, but do you know how it works? Find out at this workshop that will take you behind the scenes of a pilot’s life. Discover the science and art of flying. You will also make different kinds of paper aeroplanes (called aero-gami) and aero-gliders that float and glide through the air. Courseware and materials will be provided. The National Library Building was transformed into a mini-storyland with life-sized structures and huge rangoli patterns that children could colour together on.

The renowned primatologist was in Singapore and she visited the library to tell stories about her work.
