För ägaren gäller dessutom särskilda krav på medlemskap i arrangerande klubb. För deltagande i inofficiell valpklass är det tillräckligt att valpen finns under registrering. Hunden ska vara vaccinerad enligt gällande regler samt vara ID-märkt. Valpar under 4 månaders ålder får inte införas på utställningsområdet. Otillåtet på utställning Man får inte försämra andra hundars chanser till rättvis bedömning. Det är inte heller tillåtet att med hjälp av någon utanför ringen påverka uppvisningen av hunden. Deltagande hund får inte vara skadad eller sjuk.
