We’re going to forgo Tour style here at The Daily Re- cord and refer to her for this edi- torial as Tammy. Tammy is the executive vice president of the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce. She has been at the chamber for more Williams than 27 years. It’s not just that she’s stuck around, but that she made a difference. Sticking around is pretty important, too, as conti- nuity is a big thing. She knows who’s who and where what is and doesn’t have to ask. And she’s made a difference with grace. The Daily Record reached out to one of the chamber volunteers who used these words to de- scribe her — loyal, fair and inspiring. Sure she has committee members who help her, but at the end of the day, if any chamber event is successfully carried out — it’s on her. She knows how to adjust and change. And she knows what works and what doesn’t. “She spends a lot of extra time that nobody knows about up at the office at night when she has to,” volunteer Annette Barfield said. “She doesn’t just assign the work and then do nothing. She lifts up volunteers, always thanks you even for the smallest thing. It makes volun- teers want to do more,” Mrs. Barfield said. “She believes in everybody she talks to.” Watching The Same Movie Over And Over Tammy has always been considerate with peo- ple’s time as well.
