VICE-CHANCELLOR'S MESSAGE Wish you all a Happy New Year 2021. Greetings on the occasion of the Republic Day. I appreciate and congratulate the teaching community on the academic contribution made during the Corona pandemic by adapting to the online teaching - learning process for the first time, and the students for their efforts and enthusiastic response. The University was able to meet the challenges which emerged from the corona crisis with responsibility. Despite some inconveniences, the experience we gained has helped us a deal in the context of change and adaptability. ACADEMIC EVENTS 2 Universities are likely to adopt the new form of blended learning, where part of the learning happens online, and part in face-to-face interaction. The University should enable a STUDENT ACTIVITIES 5 seamless navigation between these two modes of learning. An important role for universities in this regard is to allow new ideas that challenge the current order so as to EXTENSION ACTIVITIES 6 create a better post-COVID-19 world. The universities should thus be dedicated to producing knowledge, inculcating ethical values and encouraging the students to grow into responsible and productive citizens, so that a sustainable democratic social order is TRAINING & PLACEMENTS 8 maintained and further strengthened. Universities have to overcome their current shortcomings and move towards a better future through consistent and constructive AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS 9 engagement with society and by generating and disseminating knowledge. I am glad that our University could maintain the academic calendar despite disruptions OTHER EVENTS 10 occasioned by Covid, complete the examinations and declare results within a short period of time. Other notable achievements include introduction of online teaching, FDP's, seminars, evaluation system and other major activities of examinations. The University is in the process of establishing the K-HUB on its campus and construction of the building will commence shortly with grants from RUSA. Let our University stay in tune with the changing world. We should all rededicate ourselves to quality research, welcome new approaches in teaching and learning, integrate ICT, and facilitate industry - institution interface. I strongly hope that our University continues to contribute to the development of a value based and responsible society by means of commitment and dedication of the teaching community and other stakeholders. I congratulate the Editorial Team on the excellent work done in bringing out this Newsletter. I wish a bright future for the University. Thank you all. Dr. B. FDP Organised on SCILAB AICTE-ATAL Online FDP Kakatiya University Newsletter 3 January 2021 ACADEMIC EVENTS The University Examination Branch initiated several measures to provide its services through digital means mainly to overcome the inconvenience caused due to the Covid - 19 Pandemic. The Examination Branch has utilised this opportunity to introduce online payment of examination fee, uploading of nominal rolls by colleges, paper-setting online, downloading of hall tickets, downloading of question papers at the college level, online viva voce, on screen evaluation, downloading of online memorandum of marks, applying for revaluation, online application for Original Degrees, etc. The Controller of Examinations Prof. S.Mahender Reddy, Additional Controllers and Personnel of Examination Branch successfully implemented all these measures and were able to declare the results within a short time despite the problems posed by Covid-19. The students have expressed satisfaction and appreciated the online services and are expecting more such measures in the examination branch. Prof. K.
