When the world seems to focus on our differences, Tiffany Coburn is choosing to look at what makes us the same: we were all created in the image of God. It doesn’t matter what you look like, where you’ve been, or what you’ve done, you are made in His likeness and are deserving of grace, mercy, and forgiveness. These themes of grace weave a tapestry throughout every song on the recording You Are More. The explanation, according to Tiffany, is that God knows we all need to give and receive grace. Tiffany Coburn is known for her performances in groups (Disney’s Voices Of Liberty, Truth, Voctave) and is celebrated for her powerhouse soprano vocals that soar above the music and linger after the cut off. Tiffany’s debut solo project, Near to the Heart, allowed her to become comfortable in her role as a solo artist. In a continuation of this journey, Tiffany has created her second project with a transparent approach, including songs and vocals that are vulnerable, honest, and sincere. Listeners will be enthralled by what they hear, but Tiffany’s hope is that the words capture hearts and offer encouragement. Tiffany also explores more versatility of style with a couple of true Southern Gospel songs (“Roll Back River” featuring Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and “Nobody Knows Better Than Me”). But she still delivers the big ballads which people expect from her including “When I Let It Go” (a song that alone spans almost 4 octaves) and “Matchless” (a deeply personal song that reflects on the legacy of a life well lived). Mike is a member of the Class of 1976, and serves as a member of the Ouachita Board of Trustees. He was pastor of two Arkansas churches from 1980 to 1991, and twice was elected president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. Mike followed the Lord's leading from the pastorate into the political arena in 1992 when he ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate. After that unsuccessful campaign, an unexpected opportunity for public service arose when the office of Lieutenant Governor became vacant. He was elected by Arkansas voters in a special election in 1993, and was elected to a full term in 1994.

As the congregation sang the hymn, "Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds", I followed Jackie Jarrett down the center aisle as she carried the Holy Bible to the center of the congregation for the Processional Gospel to be read. I said to Jackie, "This is such a great day!" She immediately agreed. I admit I got teary-eyed as I listened to the congregational voices, took in the scent of the Easter lilies and allowed the excitement of the worship bathe over me. We cannot even begin to imagine what Mary Magdalene experienced on that first Easter morning. It came to me later that as important as that one day is - and as much as we might love all that happens on Easter Sunday, we forget that the Easter celebration is every Sunday - not just one day! We need to come to worship with the anticipated excitement of Easter and ready and eager to celebrate the Resurrection.
