Currently there is building development ongoing on South Kilworth Road, preparatory groundwork in progress on the Pincet Lane site and the latest planning application notice in the Parish Council Summary (paragraph 4. page 3 October NNK) for development on Land South of Station Rd., plus a number of houses in various in-fill sites throughout the village, so I applied under the Freedom of Information Act, to Harborough District Council Planning Department, to request how many new houses had been built in the village since April 2015, together with the number already having received Planning Permission albeit not as yet built. I quote from their letter dated 10th October 2019: "Since 01.04.2015 there have been 14 new completions in North Kilworth". "The number of houses with Final Planning Permission under construction or yet to be built as of 31.03.2019 is 89." This makes for a total of 103 new houses in under five years, three times the amount recommended back in 2016. Whilst fulfilling the national need for more housing is highly commendable, surely these figures give rise to concern regarding the future of North Kilworth’s "small village status ". It usually follows that with more houses, there are more vehicles, more people, and therefore ultimately a greater demand for more facilities and infrastructure to cater for the increased population. As that requirement is fulfilled, so too comes the increased possibility of losing our ‘small village status’. For all the assurances given that our views and wishes for our village would be preserved with legal protection, it could be argued that "The North Kilworth Development Plan" has given us no protection from developers, but was simply a great waste of our Parish Rate. In the above meeting in 2016, some of us did try to raise our concerns that with too much housing, the precious character of our village could be lost. It is possible that our fears maybe realised more rapidly than we ever imagined. Your sincerely, Mick Vincent. Important Notice for Children’s Society Box holders The clocks have been changed and Christmas is coming . so it’s time for me to collect and empty the Children’s Society boxes. As there will be no Christingle Service in the village this year, I will try to contact you all to arrange a convenient time for me to collect your box from your home, but please do phone or email me if you can deliver your box to me. I’ll return the box to you in the New Year. Many families and individuals support the Children’s Society by popping their loose change into a special collecting box. This money goes to support young people who ask for help with all sorts of issues, and the Society does really important work providing care for children who feel so threatened at home, that they believe it’s safer to run away – sadly they usually discover that there are equally, if not more dangerous threats awaiting them on the streets. Please contact me of you too would like to support the work of The Children’s Society. Anne Vincent. It was once extremely common to add to the name of the deceased further details about where they were ‘of’ or ‘from’. Very frequently the phrase used was ‘of this parish’. One typical inscription reads: ‘Here lieth the Body of joan the wife of walter Williams of Baddon in the Parish of Bridestow’, to take an example dated 1774 from Lydford in west Dartmoor. Other inscriptions may take the form: ‘In Memory of [name], of this parish’, or ‘of the parish of . .’ The wording can vary in a number of ways. Some- times one Wnds the person, or their husband or parents, being ascribed to a certain place rather than ‘this parish’, a place that may be a small settlement or even a house address, through to a large city.

You are also asked to select 'traffic lights' – red, amber or green. It is important to understand that, if you start with a blank copy of the toolkit, the first thing you should do is save it with a different name using the 'Save as Copy' command in Acrobat Reader. This means you have now created a version of the toolkit for the particular project you are working on, and still have the blank copy of the toolkit for another time. Let's assume you have saved your copy of the PDF file as 'Project.pdf' – every time you save again you will save all of the additions and traffic light choices you have made.
