T What if they hadn’t built Taranaki’s premier rugby ground in a swampy valley? What if the NIMBY neighbours around Sanders Park in Westown had accepted the first plan to build Rugby Park there in 1927? With the benefit of hindsight, should the playing field have been laid west-to-east instead of north-south, so the grandstands weren’t built on fill? Now that both stands have been declared earthquake-prone, a lot more what-ifs loom over the investigation into what can be done with the stadium...including the big one – can it stay there? Although Yarrow Stadium may never again attract crowds as big those during last century's Ranfurly Shield eras and international games – nearly 40,000 - memories of extraordinary occasions linger within most Taranaki family histories. We’ve got too much in to abandon the place, and initial alarm has been displaced by determination to fix it. Jami Miscik is President and Vice Chairman of Kissinger Associates, Inc., the strategic international consulting firm based in New York. Prior to joining Kissinger Associates, Ms. Miscik served as the Global Head of Sover- eign Risk at Lehman Brothers/Barclays Capital in New York from 2005 to 2008. She is the recipient of the DCI’s Director’s Medal, the Distinguished Intelli- gence Medal, the Defense Intelligence Agency Director’s Medal, and has twice re- ceived the Intelligence Commendation Medal. She is a regular speaker at international conferences. Ms. Miscik was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Redondo Beach, California. In December 2009, she was appointed to the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. She also serves on the boards of the Council of Foreign Relations, the International Rescue Committee, the American Ditchley Foundation, and In-Q-Tel.

Goals are being scored and Honorary President chances that were wasted over the previous two seasons are finding the net. John Richards Not only that, the defence is starting to gel and results are promising. Chairman Stuart Earl Manager, Kenny Jackett, seems to have instilled a different mentality into the Deputy Chairman players that the previous managers failed to do and the football is, to say the Stef Leonard least, watchable without flinching. Let us hope the trend continues.
