Role purpose The Kickstart job placement is for young people (aged 16-24), helping them progress further into employment. A wrap around employability programme is an essential part of Kickstart to help develop skills and experience and be in a better position to find work in the future.

They will support the work of the council by observing, learning, participating in and contributing to the delivery of services and projects allocated. They will be supported by their supervising manager and work closely with Cornwall Council staff.

Accountabilities Cornwall Council is a dynamic organisation and the particular duties and accountabilities may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the role or the level of responsibility entailed. Individual objectives will be agreed with the supervising manager.

The Kickstart job placement will be in the Cornwall Archaeological Unit.

Duties will include: • Provide on-site assistance for the team • Work on a range of projects, initially on the A30 road upgrade between and • Tasks will include: • excavation of archaeological features • recording of excavated features including context sheets • photography, drawing, and site survey

Progress will be recorded using the British Archaeological Jobs Resource (BAJR) skills passport.
