After dinner, we enjoy an evening stroll through the city‘s labyrinth of winding streets. Day 2 Marmaris ‐ Bozburun Peninsula ‐ Ekincik 35 km Our first bike tour begins after breakfast and takes us first along a coastal stretch and then along a mountain road to a 300m high vil‐ lage on the Bozburun Peninsula, which is one of the most authentic and pristine regions of the Turkish Mediterranean coast. At the shore below, our boat is waiting to take us on the crossing to Ekincik, a small port, where we spend the night. Day 3 Ekincik – Dalyan – Kaunos 30 km Today, we cycle across a 350m high pass to Lake Köycegiz, whose hot springs invite us to take a therapeutic bath. We then con‐ tinue as far as Dalyan, where an excursion boat is waiting to take us past the impressive Lykian rock graves of Dalyan to the ancient city of Kaunos. The impressive ruins of Kaunos are well worth a visit before the boat takes us back to our boat, which is anchoured in front of a rock formation and where a delicious dinner is waiting for us. Day 4 Dalyan – Sarsala Bay 50 km In the morning, a small boat takes us and our bikes to Dalyan, the starting point of today’s bike trip, riding along quiet roads through lush vegetation. In Dala‐ man, we stop for a typical Turkish tea break. We continue onwards through the fertile and partially wooded Dalaman Plain as far as Sarsala, a quiet bay, where we spend the night. Day 5 Sarsala Bay – Göcek ‐ Gemiler 30 km Starting from Sarsala, we cycle once more across the Dalaman Plain and later via a pass road to Göcek, which, on account of its important marina, is one of the most important locations for tourism on the Turkish south coast. In the afternoon, passing many small islands, the boat brings us to Gemiler, which is also known as the island of St. Nicholas, to whom an Early Christian church was dedicated in the 5th century. In the evening, we explore the extensive Byzantine ruins. Day 6 Gemiler – Kazaköy – Fethiye 35 km From Gemiler, we cycle through pinewoods to the Greek town of Kayaköy, which once had 6,500 inhabitants but was abandoned in 1922. We spend some time here to explore the impressive town ruins on foot. We then continue on to Fethiye, where we have enough time in the evening to go on an enjoyable walk through this lively town. Of particular interest is the old centre around the Eski Cami mosque, the narrow, winding stepped streets and the typical corner houses as well as the Lykian rock graves, especially the magnificent temple grave of Amyntas, located above the town. Day 7 Fethiye – Kemer – Saklikent – Kalkan 55 km After a two hour boat ride, we will arrive at the Bozborun Peninsula. After riding along a deserted mountain road we will reach a 300m high mountain village with 1500 year‐old trees. Another 200m further, we will make our spectacular descent down to Icmeler’s coastal road. The boat and a delicious evening meal will be awaiting us in Marmaris. Day 8 Kalkan End of tour. • Golfin Antalya
Golf in Antalya Golf in Belek Belek, one of Antalya’s most popular holiday centres, has become not only a brand name in Turkey, but one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world thanks to its unsurpassed natural beauty and perfect climate. Located 30 kilometers from Antalya, Belek has a seventeen-kilometer coastline lined with numerous five star hotels. Since the early 1990s, Belek has offered its guests the most comfortable holiday opportunity in the Mediterranean. Among the features that make Belek such an attractive location in the region is its ease of access and the ancient cities situated nearby. The region hosted numerous civilisations throughout its thousands of years of history, and with its fertile lands has been a centre of attention in every period. Though Belek has a typical Mediterranean climate, the freshwater streams which flow from the slopes of the Taurus Mountains give it different characteristics than other Mediterranean locations. Thanks to its large sand dunes, its beaches are sheltered from the harsh effects of the sea and wind. With all these features in place, Belek offers a magnificent atmosphere, not only as a tourism centre, but as an area that contains all the distinctive Mediterranean characteristics. For many years now, Belek has been one of the foremost holiday destinations for sports tourism in our country. It owes its preeminent position in this regard to its climate, geographical location and undeniably to its committed implementation of sustainable tourism policies. Belek and its hotels are highly popular with sports clubs and cater to their needs across all sports year-round.

A total of 29 drifters were released in September 2008 and February 2009 at key locations south of the Bosphorus and in the central part of the sea. The spatial structures and temporal variability are described together with the atmospheric conditions of the Marmara Sea during the period of study. The behavior of drifters with respect to the wind was qualitatively analyzed. The pseudo-Eulerian velocity statistics were computed from the interpolated positions and maps of the mean currents were produced using the data sorted by experiment. The results are the first of their kind in the area and complement previous findings obtained by means of hydrographic and ADCP measurements. The overall surface flow is westward oriented from the Bosphorus Strait to the Dardanelles Strait. A jet-like flow that enters the Marmara Sea from the Bosphorus Strait and, meandering, crosses the sea prevailed during the entire study period.
