Novak Djokovic Wins First Title of the Year NOVAK DJOKOVIC WINS FIRST TITLE OF THE YEAR For Immediate Release Indian Wells/USA – 16th March, 2014: Novak Djokovic earned his third title at the Indian Wells Masters, beating Roger Federer 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3). The Serb, who plays with the HEAD Graphene Speed, won the 42nd trophy of his career. Djokovic spoiled the perfect service record of his opponent in the eighth game of the second set as he began his fight back, ending a 33-game service hold streak for Federer. Djokovic won the second set and took the third in a tiebreaker. On winning the title the HEAD player said, "I'm very proud specifically to win this tournament and all I have achieved. The way I won this title is something that makes me very happy and gives me mentally a lot of satisfaction. I'm just very happy and thrilled to be able to win the first title in this season." The title gave a huge confidence boost to Djokovic as he claimed a first title of 2014 after claiming seven in 2013. “You always have to dig deep against Roger. You know that he's going to play to a very high level and the latter stages of the tournament, especially in the finals. I know that he's not going to give me anything.” HEAD player Peng Shuai continued an unbeaten finals run at the ATP-WTA event along with partner Hiseh Su-Wei as the pair won their 11th title in women's doubles by beating Cara Black and India's Sania Mirza 7-6(5) 6-2. Peng, who uses the HEAD IG Extreme, is the only Chinese player - women or man - to ever hold a No. 1 ranking in the sport. "We're really happy for the result, but we didn't think about it. Every time we just try to fight for every point." The victory was the sixth in succession since the pair won Wimbledon last summer. The two pairs shared the first two sets and then the Indians won the Tie-breaker 10-8 to enter the final. They are now assured of silver medals. Ankita Raina lost a close semi-final to top seeded China’s Zhang Shuai and had to be content with a bronze medal in women’s tennis at the 18th Asian Games.

    TOPS sanctions tennis player Rohan Bopanna’s participation in tournaments from January to June at cost of approximately 30 lakhs New Delhi, May 19: Indian tennis men’s doubles player Rohan Bopanna has had his proposal to play 11 tournaments from January to June 2021 accompanied with his coach Scott Davidoff and physio Gaurang Shukla sanctioned by the Mission Olympic Cell in a meeting held earlier today. Bopanna is currently ranked world number 39 in the men’s doubles rankings and a semifinalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The total amount sanctioned for Bopanna’s participation in these tournaments is approximately Rs. 27.61 lakhs. Bopanna has already received Rs. 1.24 crores from TOPS through the current Olympic cycle. The committee has also sanctioned the proposal of men’s tennis doubles player Divij Sharan to play 14 tournaments from January to June. The proposal of Sharan has been sanctioned by the committee at a total cost of approximately Rs. 30 lakhs (including airfare). Prior to this sanction being given, Sharan had received Rs. 80.59 Lakhs in funding from TOPS in the Olympics cycle. Asian champion Vinesh Phogat will continue to train overseas till the Olympic Games in July this year after her proposal to the Target Olympic Podium Scheme, routed through the Wrestling Federation of India was approved, to train in Hungary and Poland after she finishes her high-altitude stint in Bulgaria. Phogat who secured India the 53kg class Olympic quota in September 2019 at the World Championships, will train in Budapest until June 9, travel for the Poland Open (June 9 to 13) and return to Budapest to be based there till July 2.

To complete the ATP2020 Award, fly to the listed airports from a vUAL hub (not necessarily your assigned hub), arriving between the Arrivals Start Date and the Arrivals End Date. So, for example, arrive in Melbourne YMML between Jan. 19 and Jan. 26. So, even if you're assigned to the Newark hub, you can fly RJAA-YMML to qualify for the award flight (during the specified date window, of course). For Flight#, use your vUAL ID number. For example if you are 277 in the Denver hub, use UAL277 as your Flight# for all ATP flights. You may use Star Alliance liveries for flights originating outside of the United States, e.g., CCA277 coming out of Shanghai. For PIREP Link, go to Pilot Center after your PIREP is approved, right click on the appropriate Flt Number, choose Copy, then paste into the PIREP link cell on this tracking sheet. To do so, betting data is gathered from a website well-known for this data collection, http://www.tennis-data.co.uk/. The purpose of this thesis is to identify optimal betting portfolios for bettors with varying levels of risk aversion. Expected returns and standard deviations of Grand Slam, Masters 1000, ATP 500, and ATP 250 tournaments were analyzed to create an optimal risky portfolio using Markowtiz’s Portfolio Theory. Once that was created, optimal betting portfolios were created by betting a portion of the money in the tennis betting market and investing the rest in Vanguard’s Prime Money Market Fund, VMMXX. The key finding is significant; at a risk aversion level of A = 4, the portfolio yields a return of 11.02 percent and a standard deviation of 15.02 percent, which is a higher return and lower standard deviation than the historical average of the S&P 500.
