The Blue Angels flight demonstration team took a back seat to the wives of the intrepid pi- lots, at least until the air show started, during the annual Blue Angels Wives Luncheon held Thurs- day at Crabs We Got ‘Em on Pensacola Beach. The annual event honors the wives whose husbands spend many hours practicing hair- raising maneuvers for air shows throughout the year. This year, a female joined the ranks of pilots, and one day in the future the event may be renamed the Blue Angels Spouses Luncheon to accommodate a husband of a pilot. The wives were introduced and each said how much they appreciated being honored at the an- nual event. When the show started, attendees were treat- ed to a front row seat to watch the air show with the Blue Angels’ wives looking on.
