Other Bona Fide Registering Organisations Other Bona Fide Registering Organisations The other members of the World Cat Congress are: Australian Cat Federation Inc (ACF) The Co-ordinating Cat Council of Australia Inc (CCCA) Cat Fanciers' Association(CFA) Fédération Internationale Féline (FIFe) New Zealand Cat Fancy Inc (NZCF) Southern Africa Cat Council (SACC) The International Cat Association (TICA) World Cat Federation (WCF) Some of these, like the GCCF, are organisations which themselves register cats and issue certified pedigrees etc. Others are organisations which are each comprised of member bodies, such as those below, which are responsible for the registrations, certified pedigrees etc. Please note this list may be subject to change without extra notice. These are available on each individual breed page in the Cat Breeds section. You may find that although the cat has correct breeding for its own registry, it is not acceptably bred according to the GCCF registration policy and therefore cannot be shown or bred from. .

    THE ELECTORAL MEETING OF GCCF COUNCIL, JUNE 2019 It was time for the June Council meeting, midday at the Conway Hall, but seats were empty and there hadn't been the usual rush to sign in. A quick count of the remaining envelopes showed about. half hadn't been collected. Rail problems had caused some delays, though by the time the meeting started some fifteen minutes later more had arrived and others trickled in later, but it was certainly a very low turn-out for an electoral meeting with 89 delegates, around 10% down on the previous year, but with travel into Waterloo very difficult possibly some had decided not to make the attempt. The day began as usual with time for a thought for old friends. Lorraine Allen, Bruce Bennett, Pat Creaton, Jennifer Fleming, Enid Holmes, Janet Powell, Ali Ross and Catrina Simpson were remembered in a moment of silence. There was then a quick diversion into GCCF’s history. In his opening remarks the Chairman, John Hansson, mentioned that the Board had recently been discussing club and delegate qualification to be present at Council. That prompted Steve Crow to ask if the member clubs that became GCCF in 1910, giving up rights of their own, should continue to have representation even if they did not comply with the duties of members as described as set out in the Byelaws. By a show of hands it was concluded ‘in perpetuity’ meant exactly that, so representation could not be removed. However, that did not mean that other sanctions could not be applied, as it was unfair on all other clubs if the founders could opt out of their responsibilities altogether.

Our membership is composed of clubs, not individuals. Therefore, we have many exhibitors and breeders who exhibit in many different organizations. Those exhibitors observe the handling ability and breed knowledge of non-CFA licensed judges and often make recommendations to clubs to invite those judges to participate in CFA licensed shows.

He introduced Denise Williams, the new Office Manager, who was attending her second Council meeting. It was noted that train delays had caused problems for some. Lorraine Allen, Bruce Bennett, Pat Creaton, Jennifer Fleming, Enid Holmes, Janet Powell, Ali Ross, and Catrina Simpson were remembered in a moment of silence. C2251 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE CHAIR INFO Delegate apologies were as recorded on the attendance sheet. C2252 CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS CHAIR INFO 1.1 John Hansson, Chairman, remarked that he was not going to give a lengthy report, but did want to inform Council that there had been Board discussions on club representation and delegate entitlement, particularly when returns were delayed or non-existent. 1.2 There was no comment on this information, but a point was raised on the historic entitlement of those clubs who formed GCCF in 1910. 1.3 The Byelaws required member clubs to make returns and pay subscription by 1 May each year and removed delegate entitlement for non-compliance, but did the commitment to representation ‘in perpetuity’ override this for the original clubs still in existence? 1.4 There was discussion with most comment supporting the proposition that it should, but that these clubs should have alternative sanctions imposed if contravening Byelaw 5 (3).
