Lake County took the lead in the top of the fourth inning. Bryan Lavastida led off with a walk, then went to third on a José Tena double. th LAST TIME OUT: Coulter came out of the bullpen for the first time since June 18 against Lansing on Thursday. He entered the game in relief of Daniel Espino who was making his Captains debut. Coulter began his outing by allowing three consecutive hits, all with two strikes, and two runs came across before he recorded an out. From their Coulter settled in, retiring eight Lugnuts in a row before giving up back to back hits and leaving the game

with two runners on base in the eighth inning. The Captains offense was stifled on the evening, collecting just five hits and getting shut out in the 4-0 loss.

2019: Across 18 appearances Coulter compiled 36.1 innings out of the bullpen in the Arizona league and finished the season with a 2.23 ERA. After allowing at least one earned run in his first four appearances Coulter found his rhythm in July, only giving up one earned run eight appearances and 14.1 innings in the month. He began to stretch his arm out in August finishing the season with three straight appearances in which he threw three or more innings.

BEAR DOWN: Coulter had an up and down career at Mercer where he finished with a career 4.74 ERA. He bounced back and forth between a starting role and the bullpen where he accumulated five saves across his four-year career, including three as a senior in the first three games of the Bears season. His best season came as a senior. After starting the year in the bullpen he was moved to the rotation where he made 11 consecutive starts before bouncing back to the ‘pen to finish the season. He completed the 2019 season with a career best 3.90 ERA.

THREE SPORT STAR: While at Buford High School Coulter starred as a basketball player and runner on the cross country team as well as the diamond. In 2015 he led the Wolves to a state championship his senior season.
