The sold-out gala, sponsored by Bottega Veneta, raised $2 million for the Hammer’s exhibitions and free public programs, and honored artist Robert Gober and playwright . Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks served as co-chairs with Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier. The event included tribute speeches by Charles Ray for Gober and Viola Davis for Kushner. Chef Suzanne Goin of Lucques once again created the menu for the seated dinner, and k.d. lang entertained 20 21 22 guests with a three-song performance after dinner.
