Jayesh Ranjan, IAS Incharge Vice-Chancellor, JNTUH MESSAGE I am happy to note that JNTUH is bringing out the second edition of Half-Yearly Newsletter and on behalf of the organization, I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to its readers.In the University Education, one of the significant keys to success is winning the self-assurance, admiration, and faith of the stakeholders, parents and students. The COVID-19 created new ways of learning. During this pandemic situation, teachers have faced a hard-hitting academic year and they are forced to contemplate how technology could be used to keep students safe and involved in learning. Under these circumstances, educational institutions looked at various online learning platforms to continue with the process of educating students.Teachers are able to become more effective trainers by extending the lesson plan beyond conventional textbooks, to include online resources. In the recent past, the demand for online learning has risen considerably, and online learning is now applicable not just to gain subject-knowledge, but it also extends to learning and practising co-curricular activities for the students. It is heartening to learn that JNTUH, with its highly qualified teachers, continues to attract brilliant students from India and abroad in this exceptionally competitive global set-up. The quality of staff and students is vital for a successful university. Teachers of various units and constituent colleges have published many qualitative research articles in national and international journals and attended voluminous webinars during this period.

Email: [email protected] Mobile: +91 9000007363 Abstract: Social work course is the most integrated practice-based discipline among social sciences. Therefore, the feeding of practice-based knowledge is important for academics to train graduates. Faculty is the bridge people in this process. The faculty members of social work perform a unique role of an academician in classroom and that of a practitioner during the field work. Most of the faculties under-go Faculty Development Programs (FDP’s) to hone their skills. For an academician an inclination towards undertaking research activities and publications augurs well not only for him but also contributes to the enrichment of social work education and also leads to indigenization of social work knowledge. A study has been conducted on 45 social work faculty members in the state of Telangana by administering a questionnaire to assess their responses regarding the research and publication activities and it is found that on the research and publications front the interest, time spent and achievements of faculty members is quite dismal .In the interest of social work education the faculty members have to reorient themselves and have to focus on research and publications and implications are drawn for faculty development in this regard. (APPROVALS ARE SUBJECT TO SUBMISSION OF AFFILIATION FEE) Consideration of approval of the Diploma, Degree and Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) course in Pharmacy and examination in Pharmacy. The following resolutions moved by Prof. M.D. Karvekar, Shri Raj Kumar Chauhan & Sri Ajay Phatak and seconded by Dr.H.G.Shivakumar, Prof. V. Ravichandran & Dr. D. Ashok Kumar were unanimously passed applicable in respect of all approvals u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist.
