Further there is an aesthetic, philosophical, and anticipatory dimension to flm, in which they provide artistic visions of the world that might transcend the social context of the moment and articulate future possibilities, positive and negative, and pro- vide insight into the nature of human beings, social relationships, institu- tions, and conficts of a given era.
