Strong and effective relationships with industry delivery partners and private operators underpin our ability to provide better transport for the people of NSW.

A ten point commitment to the construction sector

To bring about a continued strong and effective partnership with industry we have outlined our commitment in 10 steps. These steps show how the NSW Government will support and drive the construction sector, as well as identify the high standards we expect in return. Staying up to date 1 Procure and manage projects in a more collaborative way

2 Adopt partnership-based approaches to risk allocation 1 Tenders – Sign up for alerts at NSW eTenders. Current tenders for our projects are available via the NSW Government eTendering website. Prospective tenderers are encouraged 3 Standardise contracts and procurement methods to read the tender invitation instructions and view all tender documentation prior to submitting their applications. Some tenders will need to be submitted online through the 4 Develop and promote a transparent pipeline of projects eTendering website, however, others will need to be submitted in hard copy directly to Transport for NSW. 5 Reduce the cost of bidding 2 Monitor the list of awarded contracts to seek out opportunities with our delivery partners. 6 Establish a consistent NSW Government policy on bid cost contributions 3 Prequalification panels – Prepare your organisation and obtain or maintain prequalification with whole-of-government prequalification panels. Prequalified suppliers may be invited 7 Monitor and reward high performance to tender by a Government agency. Prequalification is not a guarantee of work. It does however determine a contractor’s eligibility to tender for work, subject to meeting 8 Improve the security and timeliness of contract payments any local legislative / regulatory requirements. For more information visit: www.procurepoint.nsw.gov.au/before-you-buy/prequalification-schemes-0 9 Improve skills and training Newly formed companies may also apply and will be assessed on a case by case basis. 10 Increase industry diversity Contact us For more information on how you can play a role during this exciting time in Transport’s history visit transport.nsw.gov.au/projects
