With an uncertain economy facing them, bowl- ing center owners, managers and industry professionals gathered at Atlantic City’s Trump Taj Mahal November 1-4. This was the third year the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America handled administration for the show and attendance came in above 2008 figures. “Despite the current economic struggles bowling centers are experi- encing, it’s encouraging to see the strong indication that bowling pro- prietors see the benefit in coming together to learn, network and sup- port the bowling industry,” remarked ECBCC committee chair Jack Moran of Roseland Bowl in Canandaigua, N.Y. “We look forward to building on 2009’s success as we plan for our future east coast con- ventions.” The convention opened with association updates from BPAA exec- utive director Steve Johnson and USBC executive director Stu Upson.
