Malone Dear Parent, President Senior year is a special time when many lifelong memories are David Nance made. Though this 2020-2021 school year has certainly been Vice President one for the history books, our students have met the challenges with grace and resilience. We are especially proud of the Class of 2021 and are looking forward to celebrating your student at graduation. Kimberly Anderson We were able to conduct outdoor graduation ceremonies last year at Dick Bivins Stadium and it worked well. This year, the Amarillo Civic Center could not guarantee it could host graduation for Doyle Corder us and, after asking for feedback from students, parents and school staff and weighing the decision carefully, we have decided to again move graduation to Dick Bivins Stadium for outdoor Alonzo Everhart ceremonies the week of May 24. Our high schools are planning music, speeches, and all the traditional commencement activities that we know will make graduation just as memorable and Dick Ford special as it has always been. Kayla Mendez You and your student will receive all the details about graduation such as information about caps and gowns, rehearsal, tickets and transportation, from your high school. Each graduating senior will receive 15 tickets for graduation. In the event a senior needs more than 15 tickets, additional tickets can be requested from the high school. Even though the ceremonies will be outdoors, decorum is still important. We ask everyone to be respectful of our graduates and fellow attendees with a reminder not to save rows of seats and not to bring things such as noisemakers, balloons, and large signs or posters. Also, keep in mind a clear bag policy is in effect for Dick Bivins Stadium. 2021 Graduation Schedule Monday, May 24 - Graduation Rehearsals Tuesday, May 25 - 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. North Heights Alternative School Graduation Tuesday, May 25 – 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Amarillo High School Graduation Wednesday, May 26 – 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Caprock High School Graduation Thursday, May 27 – 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Palo Duro High School Graduation Friday, May 28 – 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Tascosa High School Graduation If the unpredictable Panhandle weather forces a cancellation of any of these ceremonies, we have a back-up plan. Graduation for any cancelled ceremonies will be moved to the next morning at 10:00 a.m. at Dick Bivins Stadium. If a make-up ceremony is needed for North Heights, it will be Saturday, May 29, at 8:00 p.m. Despite a trying year, we have much to celebrate and we want to join our parents and families in honoring the Class of 2021. Malone President El ultimo ano escolar es muy especial donde se hacen recuerdos de por vida. Aunque el año escolar 2020 -2021 ha David Nance sido sin duda un para los libros de historia, nuestros Vice President estudiantes han respondido a los retos con gracia y flexibilidad. Estamos especialmente orgullosos de la clase del 2121 y estamos ansiosos para celebrar a su estudiante en la graduación. Este ano el Centro Cívico de Amarillo no pudo garantizar poder acoger la graduación Doyle Corder para nosotros, después de preguntar la opinión de los estudiantes, padres y personal de la escuela y de evaluar la decisión cuidadosamente, hemos decidido tener la graduación el estadio Dick Bivins Alonzo Everhart para tener ceremonias al aire libre la semana del mayo 24. Nuestras preparatorias están preparando música, discursos y las actividades tradicionales de la ceremonia de graduación que sabemos hará la Dick Ford graduación tan memorable y especial como siempre la ha sido. La graduación por cualquier ceremonia cancelada se moverá para la siguiente mañana a las 10:00 a.m. en el estadio Dick Bivins.
