O R D E R

The appellant Thiru A Suryanarayan is present for today’s (14.06.2018) enquiry. The Public Authority represented by Thiru R.Sakthivel, Personal Assistant (General) to the Collector, Thiruvallur District and Thiru R.Subbiah, Headquarters Deputy Tahsildar, Taluk Office, Avadi Taluk, Chennai are present.

2. The second appeal dated 28.03.2017 filed under Section 19(3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, pertaining to the petition dated 05.01.2017 filed under Section 6(1) and first appeal dated 22.02.2017 filed under Section 19(1) was taken up for enquiry today (14.06.2018).

Perusal of records reveal that in the petition filed under Section 6(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, dated 05.01.2017, the appellant has sought for information about the extract of land records detailing, door number, street name, owners (as on 4 th January 2017), present occupants under the owners, extent of land held by them, survey and sub division numbers, field number in the field numbers 387/1A, 387/1B, 401/1, 411, 298/1B, 412/1, 412/3 and 410. The petition was addressed to the Public Information Officer, Taluk Office, Avadi Taluk, Chennai.

4. In the second appeal filed before the Commission, the appellant requested the Commission to direct the Public Information Officer to furnish the information.

5. In this regard, the appellant has filed a Writ Petition in W.P.No.6808 of 2018 and the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras by order dated 29.03.2018 has directed the Commission to hear the petitioner and the other interested parties within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the order. Accordingly the case was taken up for enquiry today (14.06.2018).

Perusal of records reveal that the information sought for by the appellant was not furnished by the Public Information Officer / Appellate Authority in full shape and hence the Commission direct the Public Information Officer, Taluk Office, Avadi Taluk to furnish the information sought for by the appellant in full shape without any charges under Section 7(6) of Right to Information Act, 2005 within 15 days from the receipt of

2 this order and report the fact to the Commission within 30 days from the receipt of this order.

7. The Public Information Officer / Personal Assistant (General) to the Collector, Thiruvallur District is directed to monitor the same. With this direction the Commission conclude that no further enquiry is required in this case and the second appeal is treated as closed.
