Placements: None of the students gets placed from our course, but recently placements are conducted here. The highest salary package offered here was up to 10 LPA. The internship rate is also less. Companies which visit our college to recruit students are from Disclaimer: This PDF is auto-generated based on the information available on Shiksha as on 23-Sep-2021. the state only and not from outside the state. Infrastructure: Everything is up to the mark here, and the quality of the food served is also up to the mark. Other facilities are very good. The library is very satisfying with a huge number of books, and it is very reasonable. Sports and games are organised well, and a huge number of events are organised on the sports day. Faculty: Teachers here are well qualified and also very good in nature. The course curriculum is helpful for every student because, as being a mechanical engineering student, you come to know more about practical life. This course has helped me to see things in a more logical and better manner now. Other: The mechanical course is very interesting because of its subjects, and when you get the right teachers, it becomes better. The fest and other events are well organised here. I think there's no need to improve anything in the mechanical course. A Abhinay Raj | B.E. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2021 Verified Reviewed on 8 Sep 2019 2.2 Placements 1 Infrastructure 3 Faculty & Course Curriculum 2 Crowd & Campus Life 2 It is an average college in enough fees. Placements: Above 60% of students in MPC are selected for this course or qualified for the course. I don't know about the salary or companies visited for our course. Only a bachelor in engineering role is offered in our college at present. Our college placements were started in 2018. Infrastructure: Sports facilities are not appropriate for this college, and infrastructure is quite good for an average college. Facilities like Wi-Fi, library, classrooms are average, and library facilities getting digital from 2018 are available. Classrooms are air-conditioned and are not maintained regularly. Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, and some are not, and we don't have enough regular teachers in our college. Teaching quality is not that good in our college, and regular classes are not conducted seriously. The course is not up to date but give an understanding of the branch subjects. Other: I have chosen this course because I wanted to become a B.Tech engineer. It provides enough for students to study, and I hope they improve their teaching quality and conduct class seriously and fix our schedules seriously. Teachers give proper guidance for students to regulate tech fest, culture fest and other events, and encourage students to participate in other activities. D Dinesh Dewangan | B.E. in Computer Science Engineering - Batch of 2016 Verified Reviewed on 13 Mar 2021 4.4 Placements 4 Infrastructure 4 Faculty & Course Curriculum 5 Crowd & Campus Life 4 The infrastructure and campus are good. Faculty members are equally good. Placements: Companies are visiting the campus nowadays for placements. During our tenure, placements were not available for CSE students. However, we have participated in open campus drives, which were held in private colleges. Many students attended and got selected in open campus drives. Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi and the library are good, where we used to enjoy and study as well. Canteens are really awesome, and usually, I used to eat have breakfast and lunch in canteens. Medical facilities are good, and the ground for sports is good. There are open spaces for outdoor sports also. Faculty: Teachers and professors here are good, and they are experts in many different areas. They focused on providing theoretical as well as practical knowledge. Nowadays, that knowledge is helping me to be different from other students. Being a student of GEC is a really great thing, and none of the other students can feel this college life. Other: Since my childhood, I have had an interest in computers, so I selected computer science as a primary subject. Moreover, I focused on learning it more. GEC provides scholarships for deserving students. The campus is really good, and extracurricular activities are conducted based on interest. T Tousif Ahmed | B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2019 Verified Reviewed on 3 Feb 2019 3.6 Placements 3 Infrastructure 4 Faculty & Course Curriculum 4 Crowd & Campus Life 3 A review of Government Engineering College, Raipur. Placements: There is a TPO cell in GEC, Raipur. It is quite new. Don't expect high-paying jobs from the college. Placements are average, and they are not good for core branches. CSE students might get placed. You have to prepare for GATE or other government exams to get placed in core companies. Otherwise, you can get a marketing or sales job through campus placements. Infrastructure: All the classrooms are equipped with A/Cs and projectors. As IIT Bhilai took over the campus, GEC is restricted to only one building. All the hostels are taken over by IIT Bhilai, so there are no hostel facilities for GECians. Wi-Fi facility is available, and the library is quite good and huge. There is a huge auditorium in the administrative block. A new Disclaimer: This PDF is auto-generated based on the information available on Shiksha as on 23-Sep-2021. CNC machine is installed in the mechanical department. Once IIT moves to its own campus at Bhilai, the campus will be good enough for an engineering college, but it may take more 5 to 10 years to shift. The library will definitely help you in studies. It is quite huge and not crowded often. Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good, especially in the mechanical department. They are post-graduates from IITs and NITs. They can surely help you understand the concepts. Other: The campus is huge, and IIT Bhilai is also present on the same campus. H Himanshu Thakur | B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of Verified 2019 Reviewed on 4 Jul 2018 2.2 Placements 1 Infrastructure 3 Faculty & Course Curriculum 2 Crowd & Campus Life 2 Review of Government Engineering College, Raipur. Placements: GEC, Raipur does not provide placements to the students as it is recently shifted to Sejbahar, Raipur. The old campus of GEC, Raipur is now the campus of NIT Raipur, so the training and placement cell is poor. The condition might be improved in the coming year, and the students may get placed. Infrastructure: The campus of GEC, Raipur has three main academic buildings, but as per the orders passed by the state government, GEC, Raipur is operated only in one building, and the other two buildings are given to IIT Bhilai and IIM Raipur on rent. The college provides good Wi-Fi facility. Classrooms are air-conditioned. The sports ground is huge enough. Canteen and cafeteria are good. Unfortunately, the hostel facility is not provided to the students of GEC, Raipur. Faculty: Most of the teachers in GEC, Raipur are young. Teaching quality of most of the teachers is good. Smart study methods are used for a better understanding of students. The industry exposure provided only to the students of civil branch. Some faculty members are very biased and do not give marks to every student. Other: Very few events are conducted in a year. The campus crowd is minimal. Campus surroundings are not good as it is surrounded by fields and a pond in the outer area of the city. Scholarships are provided to the meritorious students and ST/SC students. Several activities are conducted on a monthly basis for the improvement of students. Most of the students opted to attend the placements while the others wanted to do a master degree in a particular subject, but the students who attended for an interview got jobs in their hands. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The classrooms are well- developed, and the labs have enough facilities so that every student can practice in the lab.
