THE JCB CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

We are delighted to be staging The JCB Pony Club Championships at Offchurch Bury which is set in beautiful parkland just outside Leamington Spa. It is spacious, centrally located in the UK and benefits from mobile phone signal and 4G.

We are very grateful to our hosts, Mr Harry Johnson and his family and to Lloyd Hunt, an ex Pony Club member, who is building the cross country courses and overseeing the provision of all other infrastructure.

Sporting Programme

We are delighted to be staging this event at a new venue in 2021 and to be including Tetrathlon and in the sporting programme for the first time.

Mounted Games, and Tetrathlon Championship competitions will be followed by , , and Polo, making for a packed programme. The provisional timetable is displayed below.

We are focused on providing a great event for our competitors, whilst being careful not to over- extend ourselves in this first year at Offchurch Bury.

Championship Entry Fees

To minimise changes of circumstances entries for all and classes will open on July 23rd and close at mid-day on August 6th. We will be using -Events for all entries.

Competition times and results for all sports will be posted on the main Pony Club Championship website pages.

Dependant on Government COVID restrictions, we anticipate prize giving’s taking place as normal.

Championship Infrastructure Fees

In addition to entry fees, a Championship Fee of £15 for the first class and £20 for two or more classes will be charged per competitor, payable at the time of entry.

This will support facilities for competitors, their siblings, parents, DCs, coaches and the many other supporters and volunteers that attend the Championships. There will be no additional charge for parking, camping, portaloos, showers, skips, buggies, first aid or site security.

Stabling

To book a stable for the duration of your stay at the Championships please follow the Equilive link on the Horse Events website through which you will be making your competition entries. Stables will be available to book during the same booking window as competition entries, with no bookings possible after the closing date of mid-day on 6th August.

Temporary stables will be available at a flat rate per night of £35 with rape straw shavings included. Absolutely no straw, wood shavings or other bedding may be brought onto site or utilised in the stables. Rape straw has been selected because of its swift decomposition properties.

Stables may not be occupied before 6pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 4pm on the day of departure.

Horses and

All horse and pony passports will be checked on arrival, before access to the campsite, stabling or day parking is permitted. A horse arriving without a passport or whose vaccination record is not compliant with Pony Club rules will regrettably, but without exception, be denied access and unable to compete.

We are unable to accommodate or ponies which are not competing at the Championships.

Campsite

The campsite will be divided into Areas 1 – 19 and all competitors, parents, coaches, DC’s and camp followers will be able to camp and park by Area, irrespective of the sport in which they are competing or playing a supporting role.

A day parking area will also be provided for those visiting by the day. Camping and parking is free of charge.

Catering

Roaming Giraffe will be our exclusive food suppliers for the duration of the event. Founded in 2012, Leicestershire based, and owned and operated by ex-Pony Club members Jack and Hen Bevan, they cater at events from Glastonbury to Goodwood Revival, Windsor Castle to Audley End.

In the campsite they will operate a vintage coffee shop each morning and in the food court area adjacent to the trade stands and central marquee they will offer a diverse selection of food options including pastries, rolls, toasted sandwiches, baked potatoes, burgers, pizzas and Greek food. They will be open from 7am each morning to supply breakfast and lunch and a different theme of dinner each evening.

Additional Pony Club Championship Competitions

The Endurance Championships will be hosted with EGB in September in Wales, to offer a great experience for all our aspiring Endurance riders.

The Pony Racing Point Series Presentation will take place in December and the location and date will be confirmed in due course.

The National Quiz, Centre and Musical Ride competitions have developed amazingly successful new leases of life on-line, in response to Covid-19 and new dates will be released in June, so you can practice over the summer!

The Cross Horse and Pony Care Competition will take place on October 23rd-24th at High Cross Equestrian Centre in Leicestershire.
