TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS

Notice is hereby given that Waterford City and County Council, in exercise of its powers pursuant to Section 75 Roads Act 1993, propose to close the following roads to through traffic to facilitate the Winterval 2019 : 1. From 8pm 15th November 2019 until 8pm Friday 3rd January 2019 the following street will be closed for the Winterval : Arundel Square – L5532 (from its junction with Peter Street to Conduit lane) Please Note: The Bus Stop and Taxi Rank on Peter Street will operate as normal. 2. On Saturday 23rd November 2019 from 1pm until 7pm the following streets will close for the arrival of and the switching on of the Christmas : Barronstrand Street – L91092 Broad Street – L91092 Between 4pm and 4:30pm there may be significant delays outbound on The Quay and through traffic should divert via Ashe Road. There may also be significant delays on Patrick Street & Peter Street and through traffic should avoid the area if possible. 3. On the following Times & Dates the following roads will be closed to facilitate safe access and egress from the Winterval festival:

Henrietta Street – L90018 High Street – L5533 (from its junction with Olaf Street to Henrietta Street) Greyfriars – L90020 (Resident and car park access will be maintained) Baileys New Street – L90021 Coffee House Lane – L90019 Access to Cathedral Close & Christ Church Cathedral for residents will be maintained via Lady Lane but at times of crowd pressure (between 4:45pm and 7:30pm on the days above) there will short delays until the crowd has safely dispersed. Local access for Residents and to Greyfriars car park will be facilitated as much as possible but some restrictions will apply. There will be strictly no parking permitted on the junction of Greyfriars & Chairman’s Arch. Please Note: Each Saturday at 4:15pm from Saturday 30th November 2019 until Saturday 21st December 2019 the area known as Applemarket will host the Santa’s Elves Christmas letter Collection Winterval Event. This Event takes approximately 30 minutes and during it there maybe some traffic delays to traffic wishing to enter New Street. Objections or submissions may be made in writing to the Director of Services, Roads, Water and Environment, Waterford City and County Council, City Hall, The Mall, Waterford not later than 4pm on 15th October, 2019.
