GAME DETAILS The defending MEAC champion Pirates will get back to action on Thursday and Friday, looking to snap a four-game losing skid as they compete in the 21st an- nual Dr. Pepper Classic hosted by Tennessee Chattanooga. Hampton will take on Utah Valley on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., before taking on either Chattanooga or Longwood on Friday at the McKenzie Arena.

Newcomers Joyner welcomes four newcomers to the squad this season – six, if you count forward Orin O’Bryant (Redding, Pa.) and Emmanuel Okoroba (Garland, Texas, who both redshirted last season – including two transfers: junior guard Jasper Williams (Washington, D.C.) and sophomore center David Bruce (Linden, N.J.).

Williams comes to Hampton after two seasons at Tennessee Chattanooga, where he averaged 2.2 points a game as a freshman and 2.3 points per game as a sophomore, while Bruce transfers over from Harcum Community College.

Joyner will also welcome in freshman guard Dwight Meikle (Jonesboro, Ga.) and junior guard Aaron Austin (Newport News, Va.), who attended Indian Hills Community College and Radford University before coming to Hampton.

Schedule Breakdown The Pirates will kick things off this season at home, tak- ing on William & Mary at the HU Convocation Center on Nov. 11, before competing in the 2011 Triple Crown Cancun Challenge. Play will begin on the road on Nov. 17, as the Pirates take on Richmond, before they head to Piscataway, N.J. on Nov. 20 to take on Rutgers.

Hampton will then face Sacred Heart on Nov. 23 and ei- ther Lipscomb or SIU-Edwardsville on Nov. 24 in Cancun, Mexico.

Home games against High Point (Nov. 29) and Savannah State (Dec. 1) will follow, before the Pirates compete in the Big Apple Classic in Madison Square Garden on Dec. 3 against Howard. Hampton will then hit the road to take on Fordham (Dec. 5), American (Dec. 7), Liberty (Dec. 17) and Robert Morris (Dec. 20), before heading to Chattanooga, Tenn. on Dec. 29-30 for the 2011 Dr. Pepper Classic.

A home game against Howard on Jan. 7 kicks off the bulk of conference play, before the Pirates hit the road for games against James Madison, Coppin State and Morgan State. Four straight home games follow, before Hampton hits the road again on Feb. 6 and Feb. 11 to square off against Dela- ware State and Norfolk State.

After a home game against Maryland Eastern Shore on Feb. 15, the Pirates will participate in the ESPN Bracket Busters, with a game on either Feb. 17 or Feb. 18. The Pirates will then host Delaware State on Feb. 20 before hitting the road to take on Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman.
