If you would like more information, please contact us at [email protected]. INTRODUCTION The papers of Theodore R. Wilson, trial reporter for the New York Daily News, consist of newspaper articles, trial notes, awards, correspondence, photographs, and miscellaneous items spanning her 60-year career as a reporter and writer. DONOR INFORMATION The Theo Wilson Papers were donated to the University of Missouri by her son, Delph R. Wilson, on 5 August 1997 (Accession No. 5734). Additional items were donated by Linda Deutsch during August 1999 (Accession No. 5816). The Wilson papers are part of the National Women and Media Collection. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Theodora Nadelstein, the youngest of 11 children, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on 22 May 1917. She was first published at age eight in a national magazine for her story on the family’s pet monkey. Subsequent poems, short stories, plays, and articles of hers were published and produced at Girls High School in Brooklyn, which she attended from 1930 to 1934. She enrolled at the University of Kentucky where she became a columnist and associate editor of the school newspaper, the Kentucky Kernel, despite never taking any journalism courses. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1937 at age 19 and immediately went to work at the Evansville Press in Indiana. At the Press she was quickly promoted to tri-state editor, writing and handling copy from Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.

Dechsakda [email protected] Follow this and additional works at: http://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/gs_rp The er search paper was a study of how digital music distribution has affected the music industry by researching different views and aspects. I believe this topic was vital to research because it give us insight on were the music industry is headed in the future. Two main research questions proposed were; “How is digital music distribution affecting the music industry?” and “In what way does the piracy industry affect the digital music industry?” The methodology used for this research was performing case studies, researching prospective and retrospective data, and analyzing sales figures and graphs. Case studies were performed on one independent artist and two major artists whom changed the digital music industry in different ways. Another pair of case studies were performed on an independent label and a major label on how changes of the digital music industry effected their business model and how piracy effected those new business models as well. I analyzed sales figures and graphs of digital music sales and physical sales to show the differences in the formats. I researched prospective data on how consumers adjusted to the digital music advancements and how piracy industry has affected them. Last I concluded all the data found during this research to show that digital music distribution is growing and could possibly be the dominant format for obtaining music, and the battle with piracy will be an ongoing process that will be hard to end anytime soon.

    Netflix’s Big Mouth Big Mouth = Big Topics The first season of Netflix’s new animated show Big Mouth debuted on September 29, 2017 and is very popular among teens and young adults. Boasting an all-star cast and a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the cartoon is about middle schoolers going through puberty in the most explicit, perverse, and, at times, depraved way possible. Puberty is indeed a difficult time for all of us, and while the show does bring some good to the discussion, it’s also fraught with problems. What do I need to know about Big Mouth? It’s an adult cartoon based on the real-life experiences that comic writers Nick Kroll and An- drew Goldberg had as kids growing up in New York. They share, in graphic detail, what it was like growing up and going through puberty. As most young men do, Nick and Andrew strug- gled through lust, sexuality, relationships with girls, and the ups and downs of friendship. The show features some of the most popular comedians of our time as the voices, including: John Mulaney, Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig, and Jordan Peele. Although the show is about pre-teens, it is intended for an adult audience. However, Netflix does not effectively limit younger viewers’ access, and undoubtedly, there will be many teens and pre-teens who watch the show. Many of them have lots of questions about sex, and they will be drawn to the show in hopes of finding answers. Unfortunately, due to the content, they are likely to develop some severely warped ideas from watching it.
