Enter the Dragon revolves around 3 main characters; Lee, a man recruited by an agency to investigate a tournament hosted by Han, since they believe he has an Enter the Dragon trade there. Roper and Williams are former army buddies since Vietnam and they enter the tournament due to different problems that they have. It's a deadly tournament they will enter on an island. Lee's job is to get the other 2 out of there alive. Written by Emphinix. As a child, one of my first and best friends was a strange boy who worshiped the ground Bruce Lee walked on - cutting Enter the Dragon hair, taking Jiu Jitsu and Hapkido lessons, and often stalking around with that Enter the Dragon animal fury that only Lee could create all over his 7 year old face. My friend took a lot of abuse for this and other odd behaviors with dignity that his hero would have applauded. Unfortunately, Mr. Lee passed from this world very young, leaving a legend and a pair of shoes that have never really been filled. For most Americans, this is the only Hollywood film worthy of mention with his name in the cast. Don't get me wrong, I love Jackie Chan and Jet Li and even the few Chow Yun Fat roles involving martial arts, but each of these actors have their own, very big, personalities, and - at least in the case of Chan - have built their own unique legend. Unlike his successors, what Lee excelled at was the intense physicality and drama of his performance. He worked every muscle of his body in every beautifully choreographed fight scene of Enter The Dragon, and made art out of violence in ways that today's Hollywood gun violence schlock-directors can only dream of. And Enter the Dragon is one of his most stunning vehicles. The pseudo-Taoisms are kept to a minimum and concentrated near the beginning of this film. Lee enters a martial arts tournament to avenge the murder of his Enter the Dragon, and to defend the honor of the Shao Lin Temple, Enter the Dragon he helps to train young martial artists. John Saxon, a down-on-his luck playboy and brigand is the closest thing to a co-star, and comes to the tournament Enter the Dragon for a solution to his financial problems. The tournament is hosted by a mass-murdering heroin manufacturer who hides his production facilities, literally, beneath a martial Enter the Dragon school, using the instructors and students in the school as an army of body guards. Kien Shih is absolutely compelling as the evil Han, even if his fight scenes are, at times, a bit less convincing than the master Lee's. Lee and Shih are the performance highlights of the film. Though Saxon does a passable job, his performance is a bit fibrous at times. Worth seeing for the sets and settings alone, this film is driven well by its fast pace, simple but engaging story line, and the sheer talent of Bruce Lee. Of course, there are the usual problems of the martial arts genre - villains whose sense of honor for the most part only applies to life- threatening situations fighting would-be heroes, the lack of any weapons besides Enter the Dragon and unused knives, unnecessary nude scenes - Enter the Dragon is very easy to overlook these problems and just enjoy the film. A good martial artist does not become Enter the Dragon, but Inthe film was recalled so that a sequence in which Bruce Lee twirls and uses nunchaku could be deleted, along with another sequence in which nunchaku were seen being carried. In the video version was passed Enter the Dragon with 1 minute 45 seconds cut. Three of the five violence cuts made in were waived but two were maintained the first cut is to an offscreen Enter the Dragon - this version cuts away just as Bolo crouches to jerk and snap a poor sap's spine. The late Fred Weintraub respected Lee and helmed the project as a producer for the studio alongside famous Hong Kong producer Raymond Enter the Dragon. Lee was in the middle of working on Game of Death when the opportunity arose for Enter the Dragon. He put it on the back burner and got to work on what would become his official US film debut. Enter the Dragon was filmed in Hong Kong, and for several scenes, hundreds of extras were used. Many of them were Enter the Dragon opposing street gangs and fights Enter the Dragon breaking out on set. It was hard to manage, and it was one of the reasons that Weintraub almost gave up. Additionally, said extras kept challenging Lee to brawls to test his mettle, and he would sometimes entertain them, ready to win. This frustrated the crew who wanted to focus on filming, and they were eventually able to convince Lee to stop giving in to the confrontations. Linda Lee now Linda Lee Cadwell accompanied her husband on set and found herself in the role of mediator. I had studied under some internationally recognized karate masters, and had accumulated a room full of trophies while Steve was stationed on the island of Oahu. “I had unwittingly become a teacher of Far Eastern mysticism, which is the source of all karate—despite the American claim to the contrary. I studied well and had been a follower of karate-do: “the way of the empty hand”. I had also taught others the way of karate, including a group of marines stationed at Pearl Harbor. The Election will be conducted online via Election Buddy, an online election and voting service.
