Tom Dobrez Kathleen Field Orr Our MADE IN CHICAGO series, generously supported by The Chicago Priscilla Rockwell Community Trust, will bring us a national touring premiere of Chicago Evonne Yonover Dance Crash’s street dance phenomenon, the return of the popular Porchlight Music Theatre telling a story of national importance, and the timeless sounds of Jazz, with special guest rising Chicago star Tammy Center for Performing Arts Staff McCann. GSU’s Theatre and Performance Studies (TAPS) program Executive Director Lana Rogachevskaya presents two critically important works: Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig, and Theater Manager Jon Cobb Shakespeare’s The Tempest (sited in the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Office Manager Joyce Giroux Park!) Cameras/Recording Devices Audio and visual reproduction of any kind is prohibited. Please turn off all cell phones. Please refrain from bringing video cameras or any other types of recording equipment into the theater. Elevators An elevator serving the balcony is located at the east end of the main floor lobby. Do not use the elevator during an emergency. Emergency Fire Exits Emergency exits may be found outside each door to the hall and are clearly marked. The lighted “Exit” sign nearest your seat is the shortest route outdoors. Do not use the elevator during an emergency. Telephones Pay telephones are located just beyond the main floor lobby across from the “Will Call” window. Please remember to silence all cell phones while in the seating area. Smoke-Free Governors State University is a completely smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus, inside or outside. Children All children, even those sitting in laps, must have their own tickets. We suggest children under one year old not attend performances. Assisted Services & Seating Special seating areas for wheelchair accessibility are available. Please contact the box office in advance to secure a seat in this area. Audio amplification is available for the hearing impaired free of charge. A driver’s license or other identification is all that is required for deposit. Restrooms Restrooms are located in the Celebrity Gallery in the outer lobby. Ticket Policies All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges on single ticket or group sales.     CHICAGO NEWS By Bob Kujanpaa November 2011 The Finnish American Society of the Midwest will hold its Annual Christmas Party at the Estonian House in Riverwoods, Saturday, December 10th. The social hour will begin at 6:00pm with Ernie Sandquist entertaining with his accordion. Dinner will be served at 7:00pm. Following dinner, Santa and his helpers will present gifts to the children and there will be dancing to the music of the DeKalb Footstompers. Other entertainment is planned as well. The Chicagoland Finnladies will present their Christmas in Finland program at the Museum of Science and Industry at 11:00am on December 18th. (Be sure to view the Finnish tree the ladies have trimmed for the museum‟s Hall of Trees). 2.) Chicago Tribune‟s music critic John von Rhein called Susanna Malkki‟s debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in October as impressive. He went on to say: “Malkki is another of the extraordinary crop of gifted conductors to emerge from Finland in recent decades.” He described her as a dynamic leader and perceptive musician.
