TIPS 2020 – KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Joel Greenblatt Gotham Funds – Managing Principal & Co-Chief Investment Officer Mr. Greenblatt serves as Managing Principal and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Gotham Asset Management, the successor to Gotham Capital, an investment firm he founded in 1985. Since 1996, he has been a professor on the adjunct faculty of Columbia Business School where he teaches "Value and Special Situation Investing." Mr. Greenblatt is a director of Pzena Investment Management, Inc., a global investment management firm. He formerly served on the Investment Boards of the University of Pennsylvania and the UJA Federation. Mr. Greenblatt is the author of You Can Be A Stock Market Genius (Simon & Schuster, 1997), The Little Book that Beats the Market (Wiley, 2005), The Little Book that Still Beats the Market (Wiley, 2010), and The Big Secret for the Small Investor (Random House, 2011). He is the Former Chairman of the Board (1994-1995) of Alliant Techsystems, a NYSE-listed aerospace and defense contractor. He holds a BS (1979), summa cum laude, and an MBA (1980) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Pearce Hammond, Jr. Simmons Energy – Managing Director, Senior Research Analyst Pearce Hammond Jr. is a managing director and senior research analyst covering Midstream/MLP and Infrastructure at Simmons Energy | A Division of Piper Jaffray℠. Hammond was with the firm from 2004-2017. After spending two years as the treasurer and head of investor relations at WildHorse Resource Development (WRD) which was acquired by Chesapeake Energy (CHK), he returned to Simmons Energy. Prior to covering the midstream and infrastructure sector, Hammond successfully led the coverage of the E&P sector as well as the launch of coverage for both the coal and the alternative energy sectors. He brought nearly 10 years of energy- and finance-related experience to Simmons Energy gained while working for Duke Energy, Enron Corporation and A.G. Edwards. Hammond holds a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University, where he was a Jones Scholar. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Houston CFA Society. TIPS 2020 – KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Jerry O'Brien O’Brien-Staley Partners – Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Jerry serves as CEO and CIO of O’Brien-Staley Partners (OSP) and oversees the firm and its managed investments. Prior to co-founding OSP in 2010, Jerry was a founding partner at CarVal Investors where he managed global loan portfolios and had 17 years of experience across Cargill and CarVal. He served as chairman of Cargill PAC from 2008 to 2010. Prior to joining Cargill in 1994, Jerry was a credit analyst at Chemical Bank and for subsidiaries of DG Bank in New York and Comerica Bank in Michigan. He earned an MBA in analytical finance and marketing from University of Chicago and an AB in economics from University of Michigan. Gabriela Santos JP Morgan Asset Management – Executive Director, Global Market Strategist Gabriela D. Santos, Executive Director, is a Global Market Strategist on the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Global Market Insights Strategy Team. In this role, Gabriela is responsible for delivering timely market and economic insights to institutional and retail clients across the U.S. and Latin America. In addition, Gabriela conducts research on the global economy and capital markets and is responsible for the development of the flagship quarterly Guide to the Markets – Latin America and other publications. Since joining the team, Gabriela has played an instrumental role in the expansion of the Market Insights program in Latin America. Gabriela is also a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg, and other financial news outlets and is often quoted in the financial press. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2012, Gabriela worked at HSBC’s Private Bank for three years, stationed in Singapore, Switzerland and Mexico. In her role as a banker in Singapore, Gabriela provided strategic advice to High Net Worth European clients on managing their personal and family wealth. Previously, she was a trader on the structured products trading desk in Geneva, Switzerland and helped launch a credit platform in Mexico City, Mexico. Gabriela graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics, as well as French. She is fluent in Portuguese, English and French and proficient in Spanish. .
