  • Mahindra Group
Press Release For Immediate Dissemination 1.1 Malaysian Grand Prix race report MIGUEL AND MAHINDRA MAKE RACING HISTORY IN MALAYSIA 1.2 Sepang, Malaysia, October 13, 2013: Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira made history for India’s first and only motorcycle constructor in international motorcycle racing today, fighting back from a weak start to claim a first-ever top-three podium finish for Mahindra’s MGP3O Moto3™ racer. The 18-year-old from Pragal qualified on the second row, but bogged down off the line, near the back of 32 riders into the first turn, and finished the first lap in 14th place. But he was already cutting his way through, and by lap five was with the big leading group and still gaining places. On lap three, he set a new lap record, for the third time this year. By the mid-point of the 18-lap, 99.864-km race at the Sepang circuit outside the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, Miguel was moving to fourth in a fearsome close group, and then to third. But positions were changing from corner to corner as the top championship contenders fought tooth and nail. There were still six in contention as they started a thrilling last lap. Oliveira fought like a tiger to retain third place, the first rostrum for the MGP3O in its first season of racing. The 250cc single- cylinder machine, still in its first year of development, was designed and built in record time over the winter, and has threatened the top machines ever since its debut. Miguel was just 0.408 seconds behind winner Luis Salom (KTM).

This partnership, now in its fourth season, allows us to use this competitive race environment as a testbed to further develop our technology, while demonstrating the benefits of e-mobility to a global audience. Ultimately, it is helping us to drive progress towards a more sustainable future. Björn Rosengren CEO ABB — Working with COVID-19 restrictions in Season 7 Plans for the Season 7 race calendar continue to evolve amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, while the health and safety of the entire Formula E community, as well as the residents of E-Prix host cities, are of the utmost priority. As it is almost inevitable that attendance at E-Prix will remain restricted, ABB is developing virtual experiences that will allow guests and key customers to enjoy much of the race weekend experience, even if they are unable to attend in person. In addition to a dedicated microsite filled with news and content from the event and a link to view the on-track action, ABB will provide a multi-media experience focusing on the series itself and the connected topics of sustainability, mobility and energy efficiency, featuring presentations and contributions in collaboration with ABB’s partners.

  • Mahindra Racing Rider Arthur Sissis Was 17Th, Narrowly Missing out on His First Points of the Season
Press Release For Immediate Dissemination Italian Grand Prix race report MAHINDRA’S MIGUEL INCHES FROM PODIUM IN SUPERB MUGELLO GP 1.1 Mugello, June 01, 2014: Miguel Oliveira claimed a resounding fourth place in the Italian GP today, showing all his skills and the growing strength of the Mahindra MGP3O Moto3™ racer in a fearsomely close race, with a gang of more than 15 riders locked in close slip-streaming combat down the spectacular Mugello circuit’s long straight. Fourth equals the Portuguese teenager’s best finish of his second season with the only Indian team in world championship motorcycle racing, but was a landmark of race-craft and skill. He had started from 19th on the grid, and picked his way through a huge brawling group to finish a tenth of a second off the top-three podium, and 0.121 seconds behind winner Romano Fenati. At the finish there were still ten riders within six seconds, and the first seven of them within just over half a second. Two more of them were Mahindra MGP3O machines, with CIP rider Alessandro Tonucci seventh, and Ambrogio rider Brad Binder ninth. A fourth Mahindra also took points in the hands of San Carlo Team Italia’s Matteo Ferrari. Second Mahindra Racing rider Arthur Sissis was 17th, narrowly missing out on his first points of the season. Sissis had qualified 24th, and was delayed by slower riders as he moved through towards the top 15. The next race is the Catalunyan GP in Barcelona, in two weeks. MIGUEL OLIVEIRA – Fourth position It was such a hard race.

  • The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV Tyre Takes Malaysian Cauldron in Its Stride
MEDIA INFORMATION FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP Putrajaya ePrix The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV tyre takes Malaysian cauldron in its stride Free practice and qualifying for the inaugural Putrajaya ePrix took place in bright, sunny weather before cloud cover moved in for the start of the race itself when the temperature reached 33°C, while Michelin’s technical staff reported a track temperature of 45°C. The track was still damp for the early free practice session which ran from 7:45am to 9am local time, and qualifying followed at 10am. The Formula E qualifying format is based on four 10-minute mini-sessions comprising groups of five cars each and the top of the timesheet changed hands several times. After Q2, the order was topped by Germany’s Daniel ABT (Audi Sport ABT), a mere 0.005s clear of Italian driver/team manager Jarno TRULLI. There were changes at the sharp end in Q3, however, when Nicolas PROST (e.Dams-Renault) came out on top after an exciting duel with Oriol SERVIA (Dragon Racing). The Frenchman held firm to win the day, 0.231s ahead of the Spaniard whose Belgian team-mate Jérôme D’AMBROSIO came third, a further 0.205s adrift. The result of Q4 had no influence on the final top placings. The grid order wasn’t identical to that on the timing screens, though, since Nicolas PROST was relegated to 11th spot because of the 10-place penalty he was awarded following his last-turn tangle with Nick HEIDFELD (Venturi) in the championship’s Chinese opener. Meanwhile, Jérôme D’AMBROSIO was dropped to the back of the grid, which meant that the front row was finally shared by Oriol SERVIA and Sam BIRD (Virgin Racing), with Daniel ABT third.
