The Lincoln Park Cultural Center, housed in a 1927 Georgian Revival-style building, offers everything from a ceramics studio to kids’ activities. WHAT IS A SPECIAL SERVICE AREA? Special Service Areas, or SSAs, provide a funding mechanism to maintain and manage commercial districts — keeping them clean, attractive and competitive. There are over 50 active SSAs in Chicago, which provide services for most major shopping and dining corridors. In Lincoln Park, there are two such areas: Clark Street and Lincoln Avenue. SSA services are only provided to businesses and properties located within the specific boundaries of each district.
