Northeast Conference Announces Women’s Basketball Webcast Package NEC To Team Up With Pack Network For Regular Season & Postseason Package To Air On NortheastConference.TV

Somerset, NJ -- The Northeast Conference (NEC) and Pack Network will partner this winter to produce a women’s basketball webstreaming package, the first such endeavor for the league. The NEC PackCasts will air on NortheastConference.TV, the league's new web-based media platform which launched last November, and will be made available to fans at no charge.

With each NEC program featured at least once over the course of the season, the eight-game regular season webcast package tips-off on January 7th as Mount St. Mary’s visits Quinnipiac. Once the regular season slate concludes with Sacred Heart at Monmouth on February 27th, PackNetwork will broadcast the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the 2010 NEC Women’s Basketball Tournament live from DeGol Arena on the campus of Saint Francis (PA).

"The NEC remains committed to bolstering its new media efforts and delivering unique digital content,” said Noreen Morris, NEC Commis- sioner. “Partnering with Pack Network on a women’s basketball webcast package will serve as the perfect complement to our television coverage and is a great opportunity to reach all our fans via NortheastConference.TV. These broadcasts will also serve as a terrific showcase for our rising women’s basketball programs.”

Providing commentary for the package on the play-by-play side will be Paul Dottino, Matt Harmon and Craig D’Amico, with Pam Roecker, Jaclyn Vocell and Tom Green handling color analysis.

In addition to the women’s basketball schedule of games, NortheastConference.TV serves as the league's championship webcast hub, with eight conference tournaments to be streamed via Pack Network in 2009-10. In addition to men's and women's soccer, and women's last fall, and women’s basketball this winter, the spring will feature live postseason webcasts for women's lacrosse, and baseball.

NortheastConference.TV also offers on-demand archived content and highlight packages, all free to the viewing public.

"The Northeast Conference continues to push the envelope with their online video streaming presence and we are excited with the direction of NortheastConference.TV,” said K.J. Cardinal, co-founder of Pack Network. “Fans around the league, and college athletics in general, are really taking notice of the enhanced coverage that the NEC is offering and the addition of eight regular-season women's basketball games should only help this growing fan base."

Dating back to the 2007-08 season, the NEC and Pack Network have partnered to offer an industry-leading streaming video solution. Live event productions include multiple cameras, an on-screen scoreboard, instant replays and graphics that replicate those found in broadcast television productions.
