Photo report follows, Next steps have not been identified yet. Tour of Van Cortlandt Village, Monday, September 25, 2017 from 1-2 pm Green Infrastructure and Trees A. Sedgwick and Dickenson Avenue in front of Gate House 7:

Looking North Looking West

1. Sidewalk is sloped toward the street, making the apron of the curb eroded. Some infiltration areas would solve this problem and capture the rain on the sidewalk as the sidewalk is higher and sloped. Not pictured is the south DEP pathway that continues for a half a mile to the bottom of the hill. 2. On the opposite side of the sidewalk could have a small slight berm to hold the runoff from the grass. 3. On the west side of the intersection is a large (may be state DOT as part of ) traffic island. This is also the intersection of two of the largest CSO outfalls 056 (Tier 1 discharges at 192 and HR) and 066 (Long and skinny discharges at the Kill)

B. Mosholu Parkway Traffic Island with no curb as it is over the Old Croton Aqueduct

Looking west Looking east at GH 7

1. Area is much higher than the street, causing erosion on the street. This is a beautiful traffic island that lowered the temperature by about 20 degrees. There are no drains or curbs. This is the top of the hill and could lower the impact of the water flow down to Bailey Avenue. Korin will check ownership.

Tour of Van Cortlandt Village, Monday, September 25, 2017 from 1-2 pm Green Infrastructure and Trees C. East edge of along Van Cortlandt Park South sidewalk apron

1. Erosion has worn out the curb, the soil and any growth along the curbs edge of Van Cortlandt Park.

Tour of Van Cortlandt Village, Monday, September 25, 2017 from 1-2 pm Green Infrastructure and Trees D. Step Street and bottom of the hill at Gale Place

1. The most severe erosion is at the Gale place area. We did not go down the step street which must have just as much erosion. Capturing the runoff with GI is not only good for the DEP, it is good for the City Budget as the cost of repaving the streets and sidewalks is costly (and hazardous causing potential litigation.
