Considerations: The Manager, Utah Community Programs will occasionally be required to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends. This position will be lodged in Park City for the annual .

Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing, implementing, strengthening, and enhancing the Institute’s Utah- based community programs. Primary goals include reaching new audiences, supporting local funding, and assessing these programs for possible implementation in other regions of the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:

YEAR-ROUND PUBLIC PROGRAMS  Plan and execute year-round public programming activities in Utah (both stand alone Institute events and events in collaboration with other organizations) which provide unique programming to the Utah audience.  Identify, and cultivate community partners to advance program goals and activities  Coordinate program selection with LA-based Programming department and Managing Director  Coordinate marketing and communications activities with internal departments, including webpage, local newsletter, etc.  Manage on-site operations, including filmmaker involvement, volunteers, theatre operations, print logistics, etc.

FESTIVAL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS  Coordinate program selection to ensure appropriate content.  Plan and execute free community screenings in Kamas, , and in .  With UT Community Development Director, plan and execute UT County community screening, host special guests (Government and Foundation supporters)  Coordinate with Festival departments to ensure screenings are programmed, scheduled, staffed, and marketed appropriately.  Serve as Institute representative on-site at all community screenings.

HIGH SCHOOL SCREENINGS AND FILMMAKERS IN THE CLASSROOM  Plan and execute local High School screening program in Salt Lake City, Ogden and Park City and the Filmmakers in the Classroom program at Park City High School.  Coordinate program selection, including approximately 10 – 15 feature films and 10-15 short films  With direction from Festival Operations, manage logistics of screenings including: filmmaker invitation, scheduling, volunteers, venues, signage, outreach, tickets, etc.

COLLEGE OUTREACH ACTIVITES  With Festival Operations, determine program structure and benefits annually.  Manage communications and outreach to student in Utah and around the country.  Oversee communications for participants and coordinate tickets with support from the Ticketing Department.  Plan and execute on-site events working with the Festival Special Events Department, such as Orientation, Student Roundtable, Programmer presentations, etc.  Manage on-site ticketing for participants.

Position Requirements: Employee has legal authorization to work in the

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required  Minimum of 4 years experience in the arts education, arts programming, or other directly related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  Able to work collaboratively but also self managed and forward thinking  Knowledge of Utah arts and culture community required  Knowledge of marketing and outreach strategies required  Excellent interpersonal and communications skills  Valid driver’s license and successful completion of DMV background check required
