Scroggs has been at MU since 1985 and has served as vice chancellor since 2003. She also completed her doctorate in higher education administration here. Currently, there are no decisions on her replacement, MU spokesman Christian Basi said in an email.

“Mizzou has been my home for 32 years, and I’m very proud of the work we have done to support and serve students,” Scroggs said in the news release. “Students come first in Student Affairs, and that will never change.”

NBA Recap: The Cleveland Cavaliers survived a scare against the Indiana Pacers in Game One of their series. The Cavs defeated the Pacers 109-108 when CJ Miles’ game-winning shot clanked off the rim. The Milwaukee Bucks and the Utah Jazz both played the role of spoiler Saturday — the Bucks rolled over the Toronto Raptors 97-83, and the Jazz hit a buzzer-beater to win 97-95 over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Chicago Bulls pulled off an upset Sunday when they defeated the Boston Celtics 106-102. There have only been five eight-seeds to defeat the one-seed in NBA history, with the last coming in 2012 when the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Bulls in six games. Game One of the James Harden-Russell Westbrook showdown went to Harden and the Houston Rockets, as they defeated Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-87. Harden finished with 37 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while Westbrook had 22 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

NHL Recap: The St. Louis Blues defeated the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night 3- 1 and have jumped out to a 3-0 series lead. Only four teams have blown a 3-0 lead in NHL history, so unless the unexpected happens, the Blues will be moving on soon. The Pittsburgh Penguins have also dominated their opening round series, as they have jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Penguins won 4-3 in overtime Sunday in Columbus. While the Blues and Penguins have thrived this postseason, the Chicago Blackhawks have struggled mightily. The Blackhawks lost 5-0 to the Nashville Predators on Saturday night, which puts them in a two-game hole going back to Nashville for games four and five. The Blackhawks failed to score a goal in either of the first two games. The Toronto Maple Leafs outlasted the Washington Capitals in two overtimes on Saturday to win 4-3 to even the series at one. Some pop culture moments that people are still talking about… and Tyler, The Creator teamed up to make a new theme song for Nye’s new show on , “Bill Nye Saves the World.” You can listen to a clip of the new theme here. SNL was live from coast to coast for the first time in its history. Jimmy Fallon hosted and performed an extravagant opening number, but the real standout was Melissa McCarthy’s return to her role as Sean Spicer. The sketch can be viewed here. Journalist and movie fan Brian J. White has started a new trend on Twitter where you recast classic movies, but no one can be a straight, white man. It’s made for some good-looking casts.

For women seeking abortions, state restrictions make access a challenge Alison Dreith never imagined that she would receive an abortion. But last May, at the age of 35, she went with her husband to Illinois for the procedure. One in three women in America will have an abortion during her lifetime, but in Missouri, restrictions on access to abortion services have made getting abortions very difficult. Missouri law requires a 72-hour waiting period for women before they have their initial consultation with an abortion provider. Dreith, who lives in St. Louis and is the executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri, decided to get her abortion in Illinois because she didn’t want to be forced to wait. Through NARAL, she knew the provider in Illinois personally, which she said made the choice to go out of state easier. “[Having to get an abortion] was really shocking,” Dreith said. “I decided to have my abortion procedure in Illinois because I had waited long enough … I didn’t want to be shamed by Missouri law and wait 72 hours again.”

Columbia's Planned Parenthood might be allowed to perform abortions again A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction, or order, against abortion restrictions in Missouri. The injunction prevents two abortion-provider requirements from being carried out, clearing the way for providers like Planned Parenthood to provide abortions. Previously, a clinic could not perform an abortion if it wasn’t licensed as an ambulatory surgical center, and doctors who performed abortions were required to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. Columbia’s Planned Parenthood clinic has been unable to provide abortions since 2015.

The first trailer for the third season of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” has finally dropped. Except the fun, little videos that have been shared by character Titus Andromedon since the last season came out, there has been little information about the new season of one of Netflix’s most popular original comedies. In the new trailer, Kimmy is considering going to college, someone gets divorce papers, and Daveed Diggs from Hamilton guest stars. You can watch the trailer here.

In celebrity lives: Time released its list of this year’s most influential people. Names include Julian Assange, Donald Trump, Chance the Rapper and Ashley Graham. The public figures are nominated based on their influence and contributions and are divided into categories, such as Pioneers, Artists, Leaders, Titans and Icons. Time’s announcement said “the list includes active opponents” and several people “whose influence is the subject of heated debate.” Additionally, “each has champions and critics” and “all are shaping the course of this turbulent year.”

In odd news: Richard Simmons, of “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” notoriety, has supposedly not been publicly photographed for three years. In the past few years, there has even been a popular podcast started, called Missing Richard Simmons. On April 19, though, a photo was posted to his official Facebook account with a message assuring fans he was in fact still alive — not missing — but rather “a little under the weather.” There is no evidence that the photo is recent, or that the post was written by Simmons himself, which further perpetuates the mystery.

In tech: Apple has set itself a lofty goal to make all its products out of recycled materials. The company announced in its 2017 Environmental Responsibility Report that its goal is to create a “closed-loop” supply chain, effectively minimizing waste and maximizing renewable energy and resources. This is one of the first times where the company has announced a goal without a plan of action.
