And the Libraries are not so far beyond this change. In early decade books are kept in almirah as prestigious symbol; later it becomes the collection centre of books and now libraries are regarded as the store house of knowledge. Day by day new technolo- gies and terminologies have been included in libraries and library science education. As a result services offered by libraries become updated including its security system also. This paper is based on such a topic which is most reliable and most modern technique related to the library security system and that is the Radio Frequency Identification in short RFID. The paper describes the imple- mentation of RFID in the university libraries of Assam along with some basic findings and sugges- tions. The shortlisting is done on the basis of mandate of the Centre to serve the aspirants from North- East India on priority basis. The faculty members from Tezpur University who have applied for this program are requested to send No Objection Certificate (NOC) from competent authority (HoD → Registrar→ PVC) within September 13 2019 to enable them to take part in the Workshop.
