I initially considered that being so close to members of the band for years that have spanned from before Pagan Altar was formed to the present day would not make me objective enough in my approach. Having been an ex-drummer with the band, in fact the first, an association that I am extremely proud of, I suppose my natural tendencies and inclinations would lean towards looking at the band through rose coloured glasses. I have therefore tried to observe and analyse the whole situation from a totally detached viewpoint, but human nature being what it is, some of my own opinions and observations have probably crept in and become incorporated within some of the analytical assumptions. I have refrained from mentioning myself in the Bio, this is not due to any pretence at a misguided view of modesty that I might have but because I genuinely feel that any major achievements made by the band were after my departure.

There was good precipitation in the springtime, but by early summer we began to see the deficits in precipitation. This came on top of a general lack of snow cover, and water tables began to sink. There was enough rain to keep most lawns green, and even the farmers weren't hurting too much because there was enough precipitation to go root-deep. Hurricane Gloria, with its rains covering the eastern part of the Commonwealth, helped out some. Our salmon run in Lake Erie was impeded by warm water and the lack of water in the tributaries. The rains in early November wiped out the drought in the Delaware River Basin and even flooded parts of western Pennsylvania. And all the time, most weather broadcasters talked about the "threat" of rain; and again, this is their custom, believing that they are talking to an audience of people who only play golf, watch baseball games, and go on picnics. Across the Atlantic, the British Isles have had the wettest summer in over 100 years, with more than 150 inches of precipitation by the end of September. Even we would admit that's too much. At this point, however, it is difficult for anyone to enjoy living in this world unless he can accept its imperfection.

In response to this post Gaffled1 Awesome, thanks to COMPONENT VALUES MAKE THE SOUND - There is a myth that a transistor type is responsible for the sound of the Big Clutch to be good or bad. Good and bad subjective terms that will differ for different people depending on their musical or gaming preferences, but are actually a combination of different values of all the components in the chain (capacitors, resistors, diodes), and how transistors are biased against the surrounding component values that make one big Muff sound different from the other. The signature Big Muff sound comes from two diode sections clipping in a row in a four-stage transistor amplifier design combined with unique tone control. In the past, real tonal differences are from a combination of individual component values.
