2020 UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATION FOR REGULAR PROGRAMMES

The University of Zambia, Schools of Mines wishes to invite applications for admission for the 2020 academic year from suitably qualified candidates in the following programmes;

(a) BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in GEOLOGY (b) BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING in MINING ENGINEERING (c) BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING in METALLURGY AND MINERAL PROCESSING

Admission Requirements

A candidate may be admitted directly into the School of Mines if one has the following:

1. GCE O Level holders

Category A Category B

English Language (6 or better) (6 or better) Mathematics (6 or better) Mathematics (6 or better) Biology /Agricultural Sciences (6 or better) Biology/Agricultural Sciences (6 or better) Chemistry (6 or better) Science/Physical Sciences (6 or better) Physics (6 or better) one any other subject (6 or better)

Candidates admitted under Category A and B will be required to do First Year in the School of Natural Sciences before they could come to School of Mines at Second Year.

2. Readmission/Change of programmes within the University of Zambia Readmission and/or change of programmes from other schools will be considered for applicants who cleared first year courses in the School of Natural Sciences / Education (with Sciences) at the University of Zambia and (CBU).

3. A - Level holders Candidates with A–Levels in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics from recognized institutions are eligible to apply for direct entry into the School of Mines Degree Programmes (Exempted from all first- year courses).

4. Diploma holders Candidates with a diploma in either Geology, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or any related field from a recognized institution are eligible to apply for direct entry into the School of Mines Degree Programmes.

Application process

The application fee is K150.00 for those applying from within Zambia and US$60.00 or its equivalent in a convertible currency for those applying from outside the country. The fee is non refundable. The application form can also be downloaded from www.unza.zm

Applicants can also deposit the application fee to First National Bank Zambia, UNZA Registrar’s A/C, NO. 62607694371 Head Office Acacia Branch. ENSURE that, you attach the original deposit slip with your full names of the applicant written on the deposit slip as proof of payment for the application form to be processed.
